Noa Tohar Tishby (; ; born May 1975)) is an Israeli actress and activist. She appeared in a variety of American television shows and movies, including '' The Affair'', '' The Island'', ''Nip/Tuck'', ''Big Love'', ''NCIS'', and others. Thomas Lawrence Noa (December 18, 1892 – March 13, 1977) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as bishop of the Diocese of Marquette in Michigan from 1947 to 1968. He previously served as coadjutor bishop of the Diocese of Sioux Falls in Iowa from 1946 to 1947. Biography Early life One of nine children, Thomas Noa was born on December 18, 1892, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, to John and Magdalene (née Walczak) Noa. He attended St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from 1907 to 1911. Noa then entered the College of the Propaganda in Rome, where he earned a Doctor of Sacred Theology degree in 1917. Priesthood Noa was ordained to the priesthood in Rome by Cardinal Basilio Pompili on December 23, 1916. Manfred Noa (22 March 1893 – 5 December 1930) was a German film director. Noa was described by Vilma Bánky, who he directed twice, as her "favourite director". Noa's 1924 film ''Helena (1924 film), Helena'' has been called his "masterpiece" although it was so expensive that it seriously damaged the finances of its production company Bavaria Film. A film and art director later specialised in historical films, Noa is perhaps best known today for his 1922 film ''Nathan the Wise (film), Nathan the Wise'', an adaptation of Gotthold Ephraim Lessing's 1779 Nathan the Wise, play of the same title, which made a plea for religious tolerance. David Bernard Loveman Noa (5 October 1878 – 26 October 1901) was an officer in the United States Navy. He was killed while on duty in the United States' newly acquired overseas territory of the Philippines. He is the namesake for two United States Navy destroyers. Juan Noa
Juan Noa was the pen-name of John Henry Cleator, a Manx dialect poet and playwright active from the 1920s to the 1960s in the Isle of Man. Life Cleator ran the family drapery business, located at 24 Parliament Street, Ramsey. He was married, to Hilda Vondy, and lived at Claughbane. He was a member of the Guild Committee and served on the Ramsey Commissioners for many years. After his retirement, Cleator made frequent trips to visit family in Chicago. It was whilst in America in December 1962 that he fell ill. He returned by air to the Isle of Man and was transferred on a stretcher from the aeroplane to Noble's Hospital where he died three weeks later on 2 January 1963.
