''No. 13 – A Dancing Van Gogh'' () is the thirteenth studio album by Singaporean singer Stefanie Sun (), released on 9 November 2017 by Universal Music Taiwan. Background and development After the release of ''Kepler'' in 2014, Stefanie Sun held 28 Kepler World Tour concerts and released an EP and three singles. During this time, Sun began to learn how to paint. During the painting process, she realized many viewpoints, including the meaning of being a singer. She extended these viewpoints to music, and thus the album ''A Dancing Van Gogh'' was born. In the process of creating the album, Sun wanted to make a darker, more dramatic piece, which led to the album's eponymous song, "Dancing Van Gogh", which caught her attention when she first heard the demo version of it in 2014. Stefanie Sun Yanzi (; born Sng Ee Tze; 23 July 1978) is a Singaporean singer and songwriter. Known for her Ballad, ballads and girl next door image, Sun made her debut with the album ''Yan Zi (album), Yan Zi'' in 2000. Featuring the single "Cloudy Day", the album saw immediate success and sold over 330,000 copies in Taiwan and 200,000 copies in China. The album won her various accolades at regional award ceremonies, including the Golden Melody Award for Best New Artist. Mandopop
Mandopop or Mandapop refers to Mandarin popular music. The genre has its origin in the jazz-influenced popular music of 1930s Shanghai known as Shidaiqu; later influences came from Japanese enka, Hong Kong's Cantopop, Taiwan's Hokkien pop, and in particular the campus folk song folk movement of the 1970s. "Mandopop" may be used as a general term to describe popular songs performed in Mandarin. ''Kepler'' () is the eleventh studio album by Singaporean singer Stefanie Sun. It was released on 27 February 2014, by Universal Music Taiwan. On 13 January 2015, this album was released as a vinyl record limited to 1,500 sets. Background Stefanie Sun participated in the entire production of the album along with Peter Lee and Paul Lee. The album was her first album to be released after giving birth in 2012, thus using music to mark the journey in her life stages.
