Njål Ølnes
NjÃ¥l Ølnes (born 24 September 1965 in Sogndal, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (tenor saxophone), composer and jazz educator currently residing in Nesodden. Career Ølnes is a graduate of the Jazz program at the Trondheim Musikkonsevatorium (1988–92), and was for many years music teacher at Sund Folkehøgskole, where he has been a major driving force behind the vital jazz studies. He was also a perennial leader of Inderøyningen Jazz Forum and organizer of the little connoisseur jazz festival "Soddjazz" at Inderøy. He also teaches jazz at Trondheim Musikkonsevatorium. Sogndal
Sogndal is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the northern shore of the Sognefjorden in the traditional district of Sogn. The village of Hermansverk is the administrative center of Sogndal municipality. Other villages include Kaupanger, Kjørnes, Fimreite, Nornes, and Fjærland. Mats Eilertsen (born 4 March 1975) is a Norwegian jazz musician and composer. He is known for recording with numerous bands, including the Maria Kannegaard Trio, Ola Kvernberg, Nils Økland, Eldbjørg Raknes, Anders Aarum Trio, Eirik Hegdal, Sverre Gjørvad, Nymark Collective, SKRUK, «Jazzmob», «Dingobats», HÃ¥kon Kornstad Trio, Food with Iain Ballamy, Jacob Young Band, Solveig Slettahjell's Slow Motion Orchestra, HÃ¥vard Wiik Trio, and «JazzCode». Live Maria Roggen
Live Maria Roggen (born 22 March 1970) is a Norwegian jazz singer, songwriter and composer. Roggen was born in Oslo and educated at Foss High School (violin and vocals). She studied sociology and Musicology intermediate at the University of Oslo and Jazz Line at Trøndelag Conservatory of Music ( NTNU) (1995–1998). She worked as a jazz and singing teacher at the Sund folkehøgskole, Høgskolen in Agder (music conservatory) and at Trøndelag Conservatory of Music (NTNU). Øyvind Skarbø
Øyvind Skarbø (born 9 April 1982 in Norway) is a Norwegian drummer and composer, raised in Stranda, and now residing in Bergen. Biography Skarbø studied under the guidance of Terje Isungset at Griegakademiet, and has also carried out studies in Norwegian, Cuban and Nigerian traditional music. He is a driving force on the Norwegian improvisation music scene, both as a member and organizer of a number of bands. Kjetil Møster
Kjetil Traavik Møster (born 17 June 1976) is a Norwegian jazz musician ( tenor and soprano saxophones, clarinet and bass clarinet) and composer, known from bands like The Core, Ultralyd, Brat, Zanussi 5, and performance with Chick Corea at Moldejazz 2000, later released on CD. He has also made his mark with experimental performances at the interface between electronic based fri-rock and jazz. Kenneth Kapstad (born 20 April 1979) is a Norwegian musician from Trondheim, known as the drummer of the band GÃ¥te (2004–2005) and God Seed (2012–2015) and from collaborations within the bands Motorpsycho, Animal Alpha, Goat the Head and Monolithic. Tor Andreas Haugerud (born 7 January 1962 in BrattvÃ¥g) is a Norwegian jazz musician (drums and percussion) known from Transjoik, Blixband, BOL, Möster Trio, and has created his own avant-garde band "MisterYtor" ("Nordland Musikkfestuke", 2006). Vigleik Storaas (born 2 February 1963) is a Norwegian jazz pianist and composer, and the younger brother of composer and bassist Gaute Storaas. He is known from a series of album releases and collaborations with jazz musicians such as Norma Winstone, Karin Krog, Terje Rypdal, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, Chet Baker, Jack DeJohnette and Warne Marsh.
