Nivy Station
Nivy Station ( Slovak: ''Stanica Nivy''), also known as Nivy Centrum, Bus station Nivy ( Slovak: ''Autobusová stanica Nivy''), or simple Nivy, is a multifunctional building consisting of a bus station, a shopping center and a market in Bratislava on Mlynské nivy street in the Bratislava city borough Ružinov, in its neighborhood Nivy. The construction is located on the site of the original Bratislava Central Bus Station, which was demolished at the end of 2017, and the tentative completion date was originally set for 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the term has been moved, and so the grand opening takes place four days from 30 September 2021. At 3:00 am on the first day of the station's opening, the first bus left the station. Ružinov (, hu, Főrév, german: Rosenheim) is a borough of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, located in the Bratislava II district. It is the city's second most populated borough, housing over 80,000 inhabitants and its Nivy neighbourhood is the place of the emerging new city center of Bratislava. Nivy
Nivy (literally: Floodplains) is a neighborhood of the Ružinov borough of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, located in the Bratislava II district. At the end of the 19th century, the area underwent massive industrialization becoming the first industrial part of Bratislava. In the 1950s to 1970s, the area was redeveloped into a residential suburb. At the end of the 20th century large-scale construction of office buildings started again to change the character of the neighborhood and in the 21st century, Nivy became the location of the emerging new city centre of Bratislava. Bratislava Central Bus Station
Bratislava Central Bus Station ( sk, Autobusová stanica Mlynské nivy) was the main bus transport interchange in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. It served both domestic and international intercity bus service. The station building was constructed from 1975 to 1983 in the Nivy neighborhood of the Ružinov borough. It was opened on 15 August 1983 and closed for redevelopment in 2018. The author of the building design and original interior is Valéria Triznová. The station featured numerous shops, fast food kiosks and a restaurant. The bus stands were open 24/7 and the station building closed at 23:00 each night and opened at 04:00 the next day. Slovak real-estate development company HB Reavis bought the building to redevelop it as part of its Stanica Nivy project, itself part of a larger development called the Twin City. COVID-19 Pandemic In Slovakia
The COVID-19 pandemic in Slovakia has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. The virus was confirmed to have spread to Slovakia on 6 March 2020 when Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini announced that a 52-year-old man was infected. He had not travelled anywhere but his son had travelled to Venice in Italy, and was later confirmed as the first Slovak to be infected. Three cases were then confirmed, including the man's son and wife. During the next few days, COVID-19 cases went up to 21 out of 832 tested. List of measures Pellegrini adopted some of the strictest precautions in Europe at the time by banning all personal international flights, rail and bus travel, and unnecessary foreign travel; implementing border checks and a compulsory 14-day quarantine for everyone returning from abroad, and closing all schools nationwide.
