Nirvana Live At Reading
''Live at Reading'' is a live CD/DVD by American rock band Nirvana, released on November 2, 2009. It features the band's headlining performance at the Reading Festival in Reading, England, on August 30, 1992. Bootlegged for years, the new issues present the performance for the first time mastered and color corrected. ''Live at Reading'' marks the first time that Chet Powers received songwriting credit on a Nirvana release for the use of his lyrics from the song " Get Together" as the intro for "Territorial Pissings". Background Nirvana's appearance at the 1992 Reading Festival was the band's second performance at the annual music festival and their first since the success of their second album ''Nevermind'' had elevated them to the position of what ''Pitchfork'' called the "biggest" rock band in the world. ''Live at Reading '81'' was the second live album released by Samson. This was recorded in 1981 at the Reading Festival, with singer Bruce Dickinson, just before he left the band to join Iron Maiden. ''Live at Reading '81'' has been issued on CD numerous times, including editions by Raw Fruit (UK, 1990), Grand Slamm (US, 1990), Repertoire (Germany, 1990), Jimco (Japan, 1990), Bruce Dickinson's short lived Air Raid label (UK, 2000), Castle Music (UK, 2001), and Dissonance Productions (UK, 2017). The Castle and Dissonance versions include 3 bonus tracks, "Red Skies", "Turn Out the Lights" and "Firing Line", 2-track recordings from a June 1981 rehearsal for the ''Shock Tactics'' tour. "Red Skies" and "Turn Out the Lights" were subsequently recorded with new vocalist Nicky Moore for the band's 1982 studio album, '' Before the Storm''. Chet Powers
Chester William Powers, Jr. (October 7, 1937 – November 16, 1994) was an American singer-songwriter, and under the stage names Dino Valenti or Dino Valente, one of the lead singers of the rock group Quicksilver Messenger Service. As a songwriter, he was known as Jesse Oris Farrow. He is best known for having written the quintessential 1960s love-and-peace anthem " Get Together", and for writing and singing on Quicksilver Messenger Service's two best-known songs, " Fresh Air" and "What About Me?"
