Nine Mile Station
Nine Mile station is an island platformed RTD light rail station in Aurora, Colorado, United States. The station was opened on November 17, 2006, and is operated by the Regional Transportation District as part of the H and R lines. When it opened in 2006, it was the terminus of the H Line Southeast Corridor trains traveling along Interstate 225. After the opening of the R Line in 2017, trains on the H Line were extended northeast to Florida station. H Line (RTD)
The H Line, part of the light rail system operated by the Regional Transportation District in the Denver-Aurora Metropolitan Area in Colorado, was added to the system on November 17, 2006, with the completion of the Southeast Corridor project (the "T-Rex Project"). It is one of four routes that are part of the RTD's service plan for the corridor. The line was extended to reach Florida station on February 24, 2017 along with the opening of the R line. According to a map in the RTD's service plan for the corridor, the H Line's color is blue. From the start of each day, the H Line begins its service southbound at Evans station to Florida Station. Smoky Hill Trail
The Smoky Hill Trail was an American trail across the central Great Plains of North America in use from 1855 to 1870. Established in what was then Kansas Territory, it extended west from Atchison, Kansas on the Missouri River to Denver, spanning the length of what is today Kansas and the eastern portion of Colorado. The trail was named after the Smoky Hill River whose course it paralleled for much of its length. Used by prospectors as the most direct route west to the Colorado gold fields during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush, it later served as a path westward for American settlers before being gradually superseded by the Kansas Pacific Railway. Florida station is an RTD light rail station in Aurora, Colorado, United States. The station, located at the intersection of East Florida Avenue and South Abilene Street, is served by the H Line and R Line. A pedestrian bridge connects the station platform on the east side of I-225 with The Medical Center of Aurora and related medical offices as well as the residential neighborhood on the west side of I-225. Interstate 225
Interstate 225 (I-225) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway in the U.S. state of Colorado. The freeway is a connector spur route of I-25 that acts as an eastern bypass in the Denver metropolitan area and serves Aurora. It also provides direct access to Denver International Airport for the Denver Tech Center and the southern suburbs of Denver. I-225 is one of the two existing auxiliary Interstate Highways in Colorado and it is the only auxiliary route of I-25, as there are no auxiliary routes for I-25 in New Mexico and Wyoming. The route begins at I-25 in the Denver Tech Center and runs north to I-70 north of Aurora. R Line (RTD)
The R Line or Aurora Line/I-225 Rail is a Regional Transportation District (RTD) light rail line that serves stations in Aurora, Denver, Greenwood Village, Centennial and Lone Tree. Opening on February 24, 2017, the line was designated as the “R” line, reflecting the letter R’s in “Aurora” and “Ridgegate”. The line travels over newer and older portions of the RTD Light Rail system. The R Line was preceded by the G Line, which operated from 2006 to 2009 along the southern half of the route. The R Line is the only line in the RTD rail system not serving downtown Denver.
