Nina Hynes
Nina Hynes is an Irish musician and music producer from Dublin, Ireland. She releases music through her own label Transplant Records on www.ninahynes.bandcamp.com/ and also privately to subscribers. Music career Nina made her music debut in 1999 with the release of the EP 'Creation' on Reverb Records. Nina had several successful tours of North America and won the support of Nic Harcourt at KCRW, among others. Following her first LP the 2002 release 'Staros' on Reverb Records her successful single release 'Mono Prix' granted her success in her native Ireland. She has gained considerable success in the European underground music scene most notable in Ireland, Czech Republic and Slovakia this popularity broadened through extensive touring with her band 'Nina Hynes and The Husbands' throughout 2002 to 2008. ''The View'' is an Irish television programme broadcast on RTÉ One between 1999 and 2011. Presented by John Kelly, it centred on arts-related topics. It was initially known as '' Later On 2'' and was presented by various presenters until John Kelly joined RTÉ from Today FM, '' Later On 2'' was broadcast on first Network 2 in 1997, it later rebranded as ''The View'', it remained in the same broadcast slot but on RTÉ One until 13 December 2011. ''The View'' featured reviews of books, exhibitions, films, music, theatre and art. There was a varied panel of contributors who offer their opinions including artists, writers, journalists, film-makers and critics. The programme was broadcast each Tuesday night. Damien Rice
Damien George Rice (born 7 December 1973) is an Irish musician, singer and songwriter. He began his career as a member of the 1990s rock group Juniper (band), Juniper, who were signed to Polygram Records in 1997. The band enjoyed moderate success in Ireland with two released singles, "The World is Dead" and "Weatherman." After leaving the band in 1998, Rice worked as a farmer in Tuscany and busked throughout Europe before returning to Ireland in 2001 and beginning a solo career. Charlyn Marie "Chan" Marshall ( ; born January 21, 1972), better known by her stage name Cat Power, is an American singer-songwriter. Cat Power was originally the name of her first band, but has become her stage name as a solo artist. Born in Atlanta, Marshall was raised throughout the southern United States and began performing in local bands in Atlanta in the early 1990s. The Frames
The Frames are an Irish rock band based in Dublin. Founded in 1990 by Glen Hansard, the band has been influential in the Dublin rock music scene. The group has released six studio albums. The Swell Season
The Swell Season is a folk rock duo formed by Irish musician Glen Hansard and Czech singer and pianist Markéta Irglová. "The Swell Season" name is derived from Hansard's favourite novel by Josef Škvorecký from 1975 bearing the same title. Their debut album, released in 2006, carried the same name. The duo rose to prominence following the success of the 2007 film '' Once,'' directed by John Carney, in which the pair starred depicting a dramatised version of their own musical pairing. Stereolab
Stereolab are an English people, Anglo-French avant-pop band formed in London in 1990. Led by the songwriting team of Tim Gane and Lætitia Sadier, the group's sound incorporates repetitive motorik beats with the use of vintage electronic keyboards and female vocals sung in English and French, drawing influences from krautrock, funk, jazz, 1960s Yé-yé, French pop and Brazilian music. Their lyrics have political and philosophical themes influenced by the Surrealist and Situationist International, Situationist art movements.
