Nils Almlöf
Nils Vilhelm Almlöf (1799–1875) was a Swedish stage actor. He was one of the most famous Swedish actors of his time and referred to as "The Swedish Talma". He was born to Nils Almlöf, a servant of the royal household, and Maria Lovisa Herbelin. He interrupted his medical studies to study singing under Carl Magnus Craelius of the Royal Swedish Opera in 1818, where he made his breakthrough as Leicester in Schiller's ''Mary Stuart'' opposite Charlotta Eriksson in 1821. He was a star at the Royal Dramatic Theatre for sixty years, where he was a notable male actor in tragedy. When he visited Paris in 1829, he was called the "Swedish Talma" by Mademoiselle Mars. In 1834 he had a wage of §1800, the highest paid by the theatre. He was teacher of declamation at the Royal Dramatic Training Academy 1834–40. Knut Almlöf (9 February 1829 Stockholm – 3 January 1899, Almnäs, Gripsholm), was a Swedish stage actor. He was an elite actors of the Royal Dramatic Theatre and one of the most famed actors of his time in Sweden. Life Almlöf was the son of the actors Nils Almlöf and Brita Catharina Cederberg. He had an early enthusiasm to become an actor. His father, one of his country's most famous actors, did not want him to become an actor, and sent him to be educated by a priest in Uppsala. Christina Margareta Cederberg (1786–1858), was a Swedish stage actor and theatre manager. She was the daughter of Carl Magnus Cederberg and Rebecca Momma and the sister of the actor Catharina Cederberg. She married the actor and theatre director Isaac de Broen in 1804, and became the mother of the actor Charlotta Deland and mother-in-law of Pierre Deland. After the death of her husband in 1814, she took over the ''Djurgårdsteatern'', at the time the only theatre allowed in the capital aside for the Royal Dramatic Theatre.
