Nikolaus Bodman

It is the third largest town, after Ko ...) was a German nobleman, ornithologist and bird conservationist who helped establish the Radolfzell bird observatory at his castle in Möggingen. It was incorporated into the Max Planck Society in 1949 and added to the Max Planck Institute for Behavioural Physiology in 1959. Life Bodman was the younger son of Count Othmar von Bodman and Countess Maria von Walderdorff. He went to school in the Ettal monastery in Bavaria and the high school at Ravensberg and Bad Wörishofen. He then studied at the University of Bonn. Bodman-Ludwigshafen
Bodman-Ludwigshafen is a municipality in the district of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg in Germany, located on the most western shore of Lake Überlingen, the north-western part of the Upper Lake of Lake Constance (). The municipality consist of the two separate villages Bodman and Ludwigshafen on each side of Lake Überlingen. In 1975, the former municipalities ''Ludwigshafen am Bodensee'' and ''Bodman'' united to the current administrative situation. The German term for Lake Constance, Bodensee, derives from Bodman. Radolfzell
Radolfzell am Bodensee (, ) is a town in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, located at the western end ( Zeller Lake) of Lake Constance, approximately northwest of the city of Konstanz (Constance). It is the third largest town, after Konstanz and Singen, in the district of Konstanz. It is situated in the Hegau region. The mouth of the river Radolfzeller Aach is located west of Radolfzell. It is a well-known health care town (). In 1990, Radolfzell was named the Federal Environment Capital City of Germany. Walderdorff
The House of Walderdorff is the name of an old and distinguished German noble family, whose members occupied many important ecclesiastical positions within the Holy Roman Empire. Since the 17th century the family has been residing on Molsberg Castle in the then Duchy of Nassau. Later several members settled and became wealthy residing in Hesse as well as in the Kingdom of Bavaria and Kingdom of Prussia. In the 20th century one branch originally from Wiesbaden settled in the United States of which Tessa Gräfin von Walderdorf is an offspring.
