Nikolaj Frobenius
Nikolaj Frobenius (born 29 September 1965) is a Norwegian novelist and screen writer. Frobenius was born in Oslo, but grew up at Rykkinn. He studied film writing and research at London College of Communication, LCP, London. He has written several books and screenplays, including the screenplay for the classic Nordic film thriller ''Insomnia (1997 film), Insomnia'', which was adapted into a major Hollywood production in 2002. His international breakthrough as a novelist came with the novel "Latours katalog" (1996). His books have been translated into twentyfive languages, including English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian and Danish. His novels have received critical acclaim both in Norway and internationally, and he has won several literary prizes for his writing. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Rykkinn
Rykkinn is a commuter town in the north-west of Bærum, Akershus county, Norway with about 5000-8000 inhabitants. It is located between Kolsås and the area of Skui and Vøyenenga. Rykkinn consists mainly of apartment blocks and smaller houses. Most of Rykkinn's buildings and infrastructure were built in the early 1970s due to the growing demands for housing near Oslo. The mix of houses and apartments can therefore be seen as a part of the social democratic ideology that heavily influenced Norwegian society at that time: People of different classes were to live peacefully side by side in the new suburb. Perhaps for this reason Rykkinn has had a development more akin to Oslo's eastern boroughs which is quite different from much of the otherwise affluent municipality. ''Insomnia'' is a 1997 Norwegian thriller film about a police detective investigating a murder in a town located above the Arctic Circle. The investigation goes horribly wrong when he mistakenly shoots his partner and subsequently attempts to cover up his bungle. ''Vinduet'' (Norwegian: ''The Window'') is an online literary magazine. It was a print publication between 1947 and 2021. Its first issue as purely an online publication was started in Autumn 2021. The magazine is based in Oslo, Norway. History and profile ''Vinduet'' was founded in 1947 by Harald Grieg and Nic. Stang. The owner is the publishing house Gyldendal Norsk Forlag.
