Nikola Bizumić
Nikola Bizumić (1823–1906) was a Serbian inventor and entrepreneur known for having invented the hand-held hair clipper. Biography Nikola Bizumić was born in 1823 into a humble family in Neradin, Austrian Empire. Following his education in his hometown, Bizumić sought further training in the barber trade in Irig. To enhance the efficiency and speed of haircuts he came up with the idea of a machine but his employer failed to comprehend the potential of his invention, prompting Bizumić to quit his job and relocate to Ruma. Hair Clipper
A hair clipper, often individually called the apparent '' plurale tantum'' hair clippers (in a similar way to ''scissors''), is a specialised tool used to cut human hair. Hair clippers work on the same principle as scissors, but are distinct from scissors themselves and razors. Similar but heavier-duty implements are used to shear sheep, but are called handpieces or machine shears. Operating principle Hair clippers are made up of a pair of sharpened comb-like blades in close contact, one above the other, and the sides which slide sideways relative to each other, a mechanism which may be manual or electrical to make the blades oscillate from side to side, and a handle. Neradin
Neradin () is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Irig municipality, in the Srem District, Vojvodina province. The village has a Serb ethnic majority with a population of 413 people (2022 census). Trivia Nikola Bizumić, inventor of the manually operated hair clipper, was born in Neradin. A former barber, he had an idea to create a clipper which would shorten the time for haircutting. He was misunderstood by his countrymen in such places as Irig and Ruma. Disillusioned, he left for London, where around 1860 the first hair clipper was born. Thanks to the invention, Bizumić gained enormous wealth. Ruma (; ) is a town and municipality in the Srem District of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Serbia.
