Niklas Wellen
Niklas Wellen (born 14 December 1994) is a German field hockey player who plays as a forward for Bundesliga club Crefelder HTC. He played a total of 213 matches for the German national team from 2013 to 2024 in which he scored 114 goals. Club career Wellen played for the first team of Crefelder HTC since he was 16 years old. In February 2020 he signed a two-year contract at Pinoké in the Netherlands from the 2020–21 season onwards. During the 2021–22 indoor season he scored the winning goal in the championship final against HDM as Pinoké won its first national title. He was named the best player of the Dutch indoor season. At the end of the outdoor season he returned to Crefelder HTC. International career He represented his country at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where he won the bronze medal. Krefeld
Krefeld ( , ; ), also spelled Crefeld until 1925 (though the spelling was still being used in British papers throughout the Second World War), is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, in western Germany. 2014 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy
The 2014 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 35th edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy men's field hockey tournament. It was held between in Bhubaneswar, India. In field hockey, a penalty shootout is a method used to decide which team progresses to the next stage of a tournament (or wins the tournament) following a tied game. Two methods have been used: the original penalty stroke competition is a best-of-five penalty strokes with sudden death if scores were level after five strokes. An alternate penalty shoot-out competition was introduced at major tournaments in 2011. The men's field hockey tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics was the 24th edition of the field hockey event for men at the Summer Olympic Games. It was held from 24 July to 5 August 2021. All games were played at the Oi Hockey Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. It was originally scheduled to be held from 25 July to 6 August 2020, but on 24 March 2020, the Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Haagse Hockeyvereniging "Haagsche Delftsche Mixed", commonly known as hdm, is a Dutch professional field hockey club based in The Hague, South Holland. The club was founded on 8 February 1908, when students from Delft wanted to play hockey with their girlfriends from The Hague. Men's Feldhockey Bundesliga
The Feldhockey Bundesliga is the top level of men's field hockey in Germany and is managed by the German Hockey Federation. The league currently ranks first in the men's European league rankings. It was established in 1937. Format The season starts in August or September and is interrupted by the indoor hockey season from November to March. From April the outdoor season will be continued. Since the 2011–12 season the league was played by twelve teams who played each other twice and who competed for four spots in the championship play-offs.
