Niki FM
"Niki FM" is a song by American rock band Hawthorne Heights. "Niki FM" was released to radio on September 27, 2005 as the second single from their debut studio album, ''The Silence in Black and White''. It peaked at #40 on the ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks chart. A demo version of the track was included in the re-issued version of ''The Silence in Black and White''. According to JT Woodruff, he wrote the song after reading critical reviews about the bands he liked, and fearing that Hawthorne Heights would suffer from the same fate, hence the line, "They're waiting for us to fall". Hawthorne Heights
Hawthorne Heights, formerly A Day in the Life, is an American rock band from Dayton, Ohio, formed in 2001. Their lineup currently consists of JT Woodruff (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Matt Ridenour (bass guitar, backing vocals), Mark McMillon (lead guitar, unclean backing vocals), and Chris Popadak (drums, percussion). On November 24, 2007, rhythm guitarist and unclean backing vocalist Casey Calvert died, leaving the band as a four-piece. In June 2014 it was announced the departure of original drummer Eron Bucciarelli. On January 20, 2015, it was announced that Micah Carli (lead guitar, unclean backing vocals) had left the band as well. ''The Silence in Black and White'' is the debut studio album by the American rock band Hawthorne Heights, and their first release after changing their name from A Day in the Life. Background and recording Writing for the album commenced shortly after the band changed their name from A Day In the Life to Hawthorne Heights. The band had sent around 35 separate press kits to several potential record labels, receiving interest from a few of them, including Victory Records. Victory had sent the band two generic response letters a month apart; drummer Eron Bucciarelli subsequently emailed the label and told them what the band had been doing since the letters' arrival. Founder Tony Brummel contacted them the following day, asking when he could see them in person. Six days after this, they played a showcase for the label, who gave them an offer shortly afterwards.
