Nigoiti ( ka, ნიგოითი) is a village in the Lanchkhuti Municipality of Guria in western Georgia with the population of 615 (2014). Battle Of Nigoiti
The battle of Nigoiti took place between 20 and 27 May 1854 the village of Nigoiti in Guria during the Crimean war. Russo-Georgian detachments, under the command of Ivane Andronikashvili, met an invading Ottoman force that had crossed the Choloki river, the border between the Russian and Ottoman Empires. Lanchkhuti Municipality
Lanchkhuti ( ka, ლანჩხუთის მუნიციპალიტეტი, ''Lančxutis municip’alit’et’i'') is a district of Georgia, in the region of Guria. Its main town is Lanchkhuti. Lanchkhuti municipality is located in western Georgia, northwest of the Guria Mountains, bordered on the west by an Black Sea coast. The municipality occupies of the Kolkheti National Park, the purpose of which is to protect the flora and fauna in the Kolkheti lowlands, as well as to preserve nature intact. The villages of the mountainous zone are located . At an altitude above sea level, the villages of the lowland zone are mainly bordered by Kolkheti National Park. Guria ( ka, გურია) is a region ('' mkhare'') in Georgia, in the western part of the country, bordered by the eastern end of the Black Sea. The region has a population of 113,000 (2016), with Ozurgeti as the regional capital. Crimean War
The Crimean War, , was fought from October 1853 to February 1856 between Russia and an ultimately victorious alliance of the Ottoman Empire, France, the United Kingdom and Piedmont-Sardinia.
