Michael Gwisdek
Michael Gwisdek (14 January 1942 – 22 September 2020) was a German actor and film director. Career He began his acting career in East Germany and has appeared in more than 130 films and television shows since 1968. His debut film as a director, '' Treffen in Travers'', was the first East-German film screened at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section. His 1998 film '' The Big Mambo'' was entered into the 48th Berlin International Film Festival. The following year, he won the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the 49th Berlin International Film Festival, for his role in the film '' Nightshapes''. He married the actress Corinna Harfouch in 1985 and they divorced in 1997. They had two sons together before they married; the musician (born 1980) and the actor Robert Gwisdek (born 1984). Silver Bear For Best Actor
The Silver Bear for Best Actor () was an award presented at the Berlin International Film Festival from 1956 to 2020. It was given to an actor who has delivered an outstanding performance and was chosen by the International Jury from the films in the Competition slate at the festival. Beginning with the 71st Berlin International Film Festival, the award was replaced with two gender-neutral categories: the Silver Bear for Best Leading Performance and the Silver Bear for Best Supporting Performance. The 49th annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from 10 to 21 February 1999. The festival opened with '' Aimée & Jaguar'' by Max Färberböck. The Golden Bear was awarded to '' The Thin Red Line'' directed by Terrence Malick. The retrospective dedicated to Austrian-American theatre and film director Otto Preminger. 70 mm version of Preminger's 1959 musical film ''Porgy and Bess'' served as the closing night film. Andreas Dresen
Andreas Dresen (born 16 August 1963) is a German film director. His directing credits include ''Wolke Neun, Cloud 9'', ''Summer in Berlin (film), Summer in Berlin'', ''Grill Point'' and ''Night Shapes''. His film ''Stopped on Track'' premiered at the Un Certain Regard section at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Prize of Un Certain Regard. Dresen is known for his realistic style, which gives his films a semi-documentary feel. He works very team-oriented and heavily uses improvisation. In 2013 he was a member of the jury at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival. Early life and education Dresen was born in Gera. From 1984-85 Dresen worked as a sound engineer for the Schwerin Theatre. From 1984-1986 he was a trainee at East Germany's DEFA Studio for Feature Films as an assistant director to Günter Reisch. Dominique Horwitz (born 23 April 1957) is a French film and television actor and singer. Life Horwitz was born on 23 April 1957 in Paris, France, to German Jewish refugee parents, who had both fled Nazi Germany. In 1971 the family moved to Berlin. He attended a Franco-German grammar-school. He has a sister and a brother. For about twenty years, Horwitz was located in Hamburg where he was married. From his first marriage with his wife Patricia he has two children, the actress Miriam and Laszlo. He currently lives with his second wife Anna and the children Mick and Marlene in Tiefengruben, Bad Berka, a village near Weimar in Thuringia. Axel Prahl (born 26 March 1960) is a German actor, voice actor and musician. Biography Prahl, born in Eutin, grew up in nearby Neustadt in Holstein. After his A-levels, he started studying music and mathematics, but then went on to acting school in Kiel. His acting debut came in 1994 in a television series for ZDF. Aside from his film acting, for which he has won several accolades including two Adolf Grimme Awards, Prahl has starred in 23 episodes of the television crime series ''Tatort''.
