''Nightdreams'' is a 1981 pornographic film with strong horror elements directed by Francis Delia, and written by Jerry Stahl and Stephen Sayadian. Plot Two scientists use electric jolts to induce a woman named Mrs. Van Houten with surreal and erotic dreams. After a set of strange scenes ranging from having sex with a man inside a Cream of Wheat box to a trip into the abyss of Hell, a surprise ending reveals who the woman receiving the jolts of electricity is. Stephen Sayadian, also known as Rinse Dream, is a multi-talented artist who was active in the 1980s and 1990s. He was the advertising creative director for Larry Flynt Publications and an acclaimed art director & production designer responsible for some of the most iconic VHS box art covers and movie posters of the 1980’s before he wrote, produced, and directed underground films, including ''Nightdreams'' (1981), ''Café Flesh'' (1982), and D''r. Jerry Stahl (born September 28, 1953) is an American novelist and screenwriter. His works include the 1995 memoir of addiction ''Permanent Midnight''. A 1998 film adaptation followed with Ben Stiller in the lead role. Stahl has worked extensively in film and television. Early life Stahl grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His family is Jewish. His father, David Henry Stahl, emigrated to the United States from the Soviet Union; he served a term as Attorney General of Pennsylvania and was later appointed as a federal judge. David had previously worked as a coal miner. At the age of 16, Stahl was sent to a boarding prep school near Philadelphia. He attended Columbia University.
