Ancient is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1992. The band released six full-length albums released by Metal Blade Records to date and a variety of mini-albums, EPs and special releases. Ancient used to have the classic raw black metal sound, similar to Darkthrone's works. Beginning with ''The Cainian Chronicle'', they moved towards a more Nordic/atmospheric black metal sound, akin to Emperor (Norwegian band), Emperor, and a cleaner production. After a period of turmoil concerning their line-up, they went on to add gothic metal, gothic-style instruments such as violins, a female vocalist, and synthesizers to their music. Kaiaphas
Valério Costa, known by his stage names, Kaiaphas and Lord Kaiaphas, is a black metal vocalist, drummer, lyricist and songwriter. He is mostly known for his works while in the Norwegian black metal band Ancient. His current projects are Thokkian Vortex (black metal) and Minimal Criminal ( psygressive trance). His name is taken after Caiaphas, the high priest during the Sanhedrin trial of Jesus. Biography Born in Rio de Janeiro, Kaiaphas moved to Washington D.C., U.S. at six years old where he grew up. Most of his family members were musically inclined. His grandmother, on his father's side, Nadir de Figueiredo, was a famous soprano opera singer. Nicholas Howard Barker (born 1973) is an English extreme metal drummer best known for his work in Cradle of Filth from 1993 to 1999, Dimmu Borgir from 1999 to 2004, Brujeria from 2003 to 2005 and from 2016 to 2022, and Shining from 2022 to 2023. Currently he is the drummer for Borstal, Liquid Graveyard, Twilight of the Gods, and United Forces. Biography Barker was born on 25 April 1973. His career started as a touring drum tech for Cancer, for whom he filled in on drums at live shows when Carl Stokes suffered an injury in 1993. Illdisposed is a Danish death metal band from Aarhus, that was formed in 1991 by vocalist Bo Summer and guitarist Lasse Bak. As of 2020, the band consists of vocalist Bo Summer, guitarists Jakob Batten and Rasmus Henriksen, bassist Kussen and drummer Rasmus Schmidt. Fredrik Nordström
Björn Tom Fredrik Nordström (born 5 January 1967) is a Swedish record producer and musician, and the guitarist of the heavy metal band Dream Evil. He is one of the leading melodic death metal and power metal producers in Sweden and has worked with some of said genres' top acts, including At the Gates, Arch Enemy, Nightrage, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Soilwork, Opeth, and Powerwolf. Fascinated by technology from a young age, Nordström opened a small recording studio in Gothenburg, mainly to record his own music. The studio evolved into Studio Fredman, one of the leading Swedish recording studios where he works with his employee Henrik Udd. Studio Fredman is a well-known recording studio in Gothenburg, Sweden, owned and operated by producer Fredrik Nordström. It is popular among Swedish metal bands, with artists such as At the Gates, Deathstars, Nightrage, Norwegian band Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Zonaria, Machinae Supremacy, HammerFall, England's Bring Me the Horizon, A Breach of Silence, and Opeth recording multiple releases in the studio. Originally, it was located in Gothenburg, but by 2005, it was relocated to Hyssna about 30 miles outside Gothenburg. The original facility was also co-owned by In Flames vocalist, Anders Fridén. Andy LaRocque (born Anders Allhage, 29 November 1962) is a Swedish guitarist, songwriter and record producer, best known as a member of the heavy metal band King Diamond since 1985. Biography LaRocque started out in the mid 1980s in the Gothenburg hard rock bands Trafalgar and an early version of Swedish Erotica. He also played on the Death album '' Individual Thought Patterns'' and the IllWill album ''Evilution'', along with former members of Mercyful Fate. He can be heard on other albums as well, such as Falconer's '' Chapters from a Vale Forlorn'', where he performed lead guitars on the song "Busted to the Floor".
