Night Girl (Lydda Jath) is a fictional character appearing in media published by DC Comics, primarily as a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes and Legion of Substitute Heroes in the 30th and 31st centuries. She first appeared in ''Adventure Comics'' #306 (March 1963). Fictional character biography Pre-''Crisis'' Night Girl is a native of the planet Kathoon, a world which is in perpetual darkness and heated by an internal power source. Lydda possesses superhuman strength, given to her by her scientist father, but only at night or in deep shadow. Her powers were negated by the presence of ultraviolet energy. In pre-'' Zero Hour'' continuity, she unsuccessfully tried out for the Legion of Super-Heroes, who rejected her due to her situational and impractical abilities. Polar Boy
Polar Boy (Brek Bannin) is a fictional character from the 30th century of the DC Universe, initially suggested by reader Buddy Lavigne of Northbrook, Illinois in the letters page of ''Adventure Comics'' #304, from January 1963. He was the first of several characters who were created based on reader suggestions. Fictional character biography Brek Bannin originates from the planet Tharr, one of the hottest inhabited planets in its galaxy. His family lives in the planet's hottest valley, where the inhabitants develop cryokinetic abilities to combat the persistent heat. After being rejected from the Legion of Super-Heroes, Polar Boy becomes a founding member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes, serving as its first leader. The group primarily serves as local law enforcement while the Legion is busy, and eventually disbands after thwarting Computo (character), Computo's invasion of Matter-Eater Lad, Bismoll. Lar Gand
Lar Gand, known mainly as Mon-El (and alternatively as Valor and M'Onel), is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with the Legion of Super-Heroes, Superboy, and Superman. The character has been reinterpreted over the years, but in all versions serves as a hero with abilities similar to those of Superman, sometimes serving as a substitute for him. Mon-El appears in the second season of ''Supergirl'', portrayed by Chris Wood.
