''Night Cargo'' is a 1936 American crime drama film directed by Charles Hutchison and starring Lloyd Hughes, Julie Bishop and Walter Miller. It was the final film produced by the low-budget Peerless Pictures studio.Pitts p.269 Plot In Singapore a young American Bruce Donaldson searches for his former fiancee, a showgirl who fled America when his wealthy family refused to consent to the marriage. Bruce gets brief employment with Shark Moran who owns a nearby plantation, unaware that Shark is in love with a dancer in a Singapore bar who is Bruce's old lover using an alias. Things are complicated when Shark is murdered and two smugglers muscle in. Charles Hutchison
Charles Hutchison (December 3, 1879 – May 30, 1949) was an American film actor, film director, director and screenwriter. He appeared in more than 40 films between 1914 and 1944. He also directed 33 films between 1915 and 1938. Though he directed numerous independent silent features, he is best remembered today as Pathé's leading male serial star from 1918 to 1922. In 1923 he went to Britain and made two films ''Hutch Stirs 'em Up'' and ''Hurricane Hutch in Many Adventures'' for the Ideal Film Company. He made one last serial in 1926, ''Lightning Hutch'', for distribution by the Arrow Film Corporation. It was meant to be a comeback vehicle, but the production company went into bankruptcy just as it was released. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and died in Hollywood, California. George Regas
George Thomas Regas (Greek language, Greek: Γεώργιος Θωμάς Ρεγάκος; November 9, 1890 – December 13, 1940) was a Greek American actor. Biography Regis was born near Sparti (municipality), Sparta, Greece, the brother of actor Pedro Regas. He was a stage actor in Athens before coming to the United States. John Edward Ince (August 29, 1878 – April 10, 1947), also credited as John E. Ince, was an American actor of stage and motion pictures, and a film director. He was the elder brother of Thomas H. Ince, and Ralph Ince. Biography John Ince was born on August 29, 1878, in New York City. In 1910, he was a member of a stock theatre at the Alcazar Theatre (1885), Alcazar Theatre in San Francisco, California, where he worked alongside actor Howard Hickman. Ince became a member of The Lambs, The Lambs Club in New York City in 1919 like his brother Ralph, who had joined in 1916. A leading man from the early 1910s, he also directed and scripted several of his own vehicles. Concentrating almost exclusively on directing from 1915 through 1928, Ince returned before the cameras as a character actor in the early years of the Sound_film, talkies. Lloyd Whitlock
Lloyd Whitlock (January 2, 1891 – January 8, 1966) was a prolific American actor who began working during Hollywood's silent era. Born in 1891, he appeared in nearly 200 films between 1916 and 1949. Distinguished by his height and stature, he became especially known for playing heavies in B-movie westerns. Biography Lloyd was born in Springfield, Missouri, to James Whitlock and Mary Wadlow. After appearing in dozens of silent films, Lloyd successfully made the transition to the talkies, appearing on-screen through the early 1940s. He married Mary Gibsone, a Canadian citizen, in Los Angeles in 1919. The pair had a daughter together. Lloyd died in 1966 in Los Angeles.
