Nigerian Ministry Of Youth And Sports
The Federal Ministry of Youth Development is a Nigerian government ministry responsible for youth affairs, including the formulation and implementation of the national youth policy, youth development programmes, funding of youth initiatives, enterprise development, vocational skills and training, youth engagement, employment, education, and the promotion of youth participation. It also oversees the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre. The ministry was previously formed through a merger of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD) and the National Sports Commission (NSC), following a proclamation by President Muhammadu Buhari on 11 November 2016, as part of the restructuring of ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) of the government. Abuja (; , ) is the capital city of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, strategically situated at the geographic midpoint of the country within the Federal Capital Territory (Nigeria), Federal Capital Territory (FCT). All African Games
The African Games, formally known as the All-Africa Games or the Pan African Games, are a continental multi-sport event held every four years, organized by the African Union with the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa and the Association of African Sports Confederation. All of the competing nations are from the African continent. The first Games were held in 1965 in Brazzaville, Congo. The International Olympic Committee granted these Games official recognition as a continental multi-sport event, along with the Asian Games and Pan American Games. The Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) is the governing body for men's and women's basketball in Nigeria. NBBF has been an affiliate of FIBA Africa since 1963, and its offices are located in Abuja and Lagos. The Nigeria Football Federation (known as Nigeria Football Association until 2008) is Nigeria's football governing body. It was formally launched in 1945 and formed the first Nigerian national football team in 1949. It joined CAF in 1959 and FIFA in 1960. The NFF headquarters is located in the city of Abuja.
