Nieuwebrug (Overijssel)
Nieuwebrug ({{Coord, 52, 29, N, 6, 25, E, type:city(170)) is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Ommen, and lies about 21 km east of Zwolle. The name Nieuwebrug (or New Bridge) refers to the bridge over the Regge on the road between Ommen and Hellendoorn. Nieuwebrug has a pub south of the Regge river and an elementary school. For centuries during the Middle-Ages, the '' Estates of Overijssel'' – a diet or feudal parliament, representing the knighthoods of Salland, Vollenhove and Twenthe (and, until 1527, also Drenthe) and the cities of Zwolle, Deventer and Kampen – convened at the still existing pub at Nieuwebrug. Salland
Salland (; Low Saxon: ''Sallaand'') is a historical dominion in the west and north of the present Dutch province of Overijssel. Nowadays Salland is usually used to indicate a region corresponding to the part of the former dominion more or less to the west of Twente. History Salland (or ''Salalant'', as it was known) is first mentioned during the early Middle Ages. The region is most likely named after the river IJssel, anciently known as ''Isala'', and the lakeland ''Sallzee'' at the confluence of the rivers Vecht and IJssel. Guelderian Wars
The Guelders Wars (, German: ''Geldrische Erbfolgekriege'') were a series of conflicts in the Low Countries between the Duke of Burgundy, who controlled Holland, Flanders, Brabant, and Hainaut on the one side, and Charles, Duke of Guelders, who controlled Guelders, Groningen, and Frisia on the other side. The wars lasted from 1502 till 1543 and ended with a Burgundian victory. With this outcome, all of the Low Countries were now under the control of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. The conflicts were characterised by the absence of large battles between the armies of both parties. Instead small hit and run actions, raids, and ambushes were common practices. Regardless, the impact on civilians was large with hostilities and incidents occurring throughout the Low Countries. Kampen (Overijssel)

Deventer
Deventer (; Sallaans dialect, Sallands: ) is a List of cities in the Netherlands by province, city and Municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality in the Salland historical region of the Provinces of the Netherlands, province of Overijssel, Netherlands. Vollenhove
Vollenhove is a city in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is located in the municipality of Steenwijkerland, southwest of Steenwijk. Until the Noordoostpolder was drained, it was located on the coast of the Zuiderzee. Vollenhove received city rights in 1354. Later it was the main city in this region, that was formerly called Land van Vollenhove. Vollenhove was the summer residence of the bishop of Utrecht, the ruler of these parts. He lived in the castle Toutenburg, of which only some small ruins are left now. To be near their lord, quite some nobility moved to Vollenhove. They built their estates (Dutch: havezates) in the town, which was unique. Therefore, Vollenhove was called the city of palaces.
