Nicolai Howalt
Nicolai Howalt (born 1970) is a Danish visual artist and contemporary photographer. Biography Nicolai Howalt was born in Copenhagen and graduated from Denmark's Photographic Art SchooFatamorganain 1992. Howalt's work has documentary references, operating at the intersection of conceptual photography and installation. Howalt has had solo exhibitions at Esbjerg Kunstmuseum; Bruce Silverstein Gallery, New York; Martin Asbæk Gallery, Copenhagen and Center for Fotografi, Stockholm among others. He has also exhibited at Statens Museum for Kunst, ARoS and Skagens Museum in Denmark, and in Korea, China, US, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, France, Finland, England, Hungary and Turkey. Conceptual Photography
Conceptual photography is a type of photography that illustrates an idea. There have been illustrative photographs made since the medium's invention, for example in the earliest staged photographs, such as Hippolyte Bayard's ''Self Portrait as a Drowned Man'' (1840). However, the term Conceptual Photography derives from Conceptual Art a movement of the late 1960s. Today the term is used to describe either a methodology or a genre. Installation art is an artistic genre of three-dimensional works that are often site-specific and designed to transform the perception of a space. Esbjerg Kunstmuseum
The Esbjerg Art Museum ( da, Esbjerg Kunstmuseum) is an independently owned art museum in Esbjerg in southwest Jutland, Denmark. Founded in 1910, in 1962 it moved into a new building in the City Park designed by Jytte og Ove Tapdrup. Since 1997, the museum has formed part of a complex which also contains the Esbjerg Performing Arts Centre. History Founded as ''Esbjerg Kunstforening'' (Esberg's Art Association) in 1910, the museum was first located in the public library (''Esbjerg Bibliotek'') in 1927. Hasselblad Foundation
The Hasselblad Foundation (in full: Erna and Victor Hasselblad Foundation), established in 1979 at the will of Victor Hasselblad, is a fully independent, not-for-profit foundation based at Götaplatsen in Gothenburg, Sweden. Trine Søndergaard (born 1972), is a Danish photography-based visual artist. Trine Søndergaard lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark. Søndergaard studied drawing and painting in Aalborg and Copenhagen from 1992 to 1994 and attended the photography school Fatamorgana in Copenhagen, Denmark.
