Nicola Sutter
Nicola Sutter (born 8 May 1995) is a Swiss professional footballer who currently plays as a centre-back for AC Bellinzona. Club career Sutter started playing football at the age of five. After playing for youth teams of FC Thun, he joined FC Dürrenast as a teenager, before moving back to Thun in 2013. On 16 February 2014, he debuted in the first team of Thun in the Swiss Super League, being substituted on for Adrian Nikçi after 83 minutes in a 3–1 defeat against FC Zürich. During the 2013–14 season, he appeared in four games in total for the first team and mostly played for the Thun U21 team in the 1. Liga, the fourth tier of the Swiss football league system. In summer 2014, he signed a professional contract with Thun. In the following 2013–14 season, he appeared in 18 league games for the first team. Alain Sutter (born 22 January 1968) is a Swiss former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is currently the sporting director of Grasshopper Club Zurich. Playing career Born in Bern, Sutter played youth football for SC Bümpliz 78, before beginning his professional career in 1985 with Grasshoppers, one of Switzerland's most storied clubs. After spending the 1987–88 season on loan at BSC Young Boys, he was ready to take his place in the Grasshoppers first team, where he remained until the 1993–94 season, when he decided to move to Germany to play with 1. René Sutter (born 5 January 1966) is a Swiss former footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Sutter started playing football at the age of eight at ''FC Bümpliz'', which later became SC Bümpliz 78. In the 1984−85 season, he started playing for their first team in the 2. Liga, which at the time was the fourth highest division in the Swiss football league system. In 1985, he signed for first division club Young Boys, where he stayed for five years. With the club, he won the Swiss Championship at the end the 1985−86 season, and lifted the Swiss Cup in 1987. In 1990, he moved to league rival FC Aarau, where he was part of the side that won the Swiss national title in 1992–93 under manager Rolf Fringer. In 1993, he returned to the Young Boys. Carlos Bernegger
Juan Carlos Bernegger (born 9 March 1969) is an Argentine-Swiss football manager and a former player who played as a midfielder. Managerial career Bernegger had a brief career in football with Belgrano in Argentina and then Winterthur in Switzerland, but had to retire because of ligament injuries in 1993 at the age of 21. Bernegger decided to stay in Switzerland, and made his name as a youth scout and youth coach for Winterthur. Bernegger became long-term youth coach for Grasshopper, and after a couple stints at Basel U21 and Luzern rejoined Grasshopper as the head manager in 2016. The Challenge League (known as the Dieci Challenge League for sponsorship reasons) is the second-highest tier of the Swiss football league system and lower of two professional leagues in the country. Ten teams play in the Challenge League; the winners of the league are promoted to the Swiss Super League, Super League, while the bottom-placed team is relegated to the Promotion League.
