Nicola Larini
Nicola Larini (born 19 March 1964) is an Italian former racing driver, who competed in Formula One between and . In touring car racing, Larini won the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft in 1993 Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft, 1993 and the Italian Superturismo Championship in 1992 Italian Superturismo Championship, 1992, both with Alfa Corse, Alfa Romeo. Larini participated in 75 Formula One Grands Prix, debuting at the 1987 Italian Grand Prix. He finished second in the tragic 1994 San Marino Grand Prix as a substitute for Scuderia Ferrari, Ferrari, but only scored points once more in his career. He enjoyed greater success in touring car racing, primarily for Alfa Corse, Alfa Romeo. Group A
Group A is a set of motorsport regulations administered by the FIA covering production derived touring cars for competition, usually in touring car racing and rallying. In contrast to the short-lived Group B and Group C, Group A vehicles were limited in terms of power, weight, allowed technology and overall cost. Group A was aimed at ensuring numerous entries in races of privately owned vehicles. Group A was introduced by the FIA in 1982 to replace the outgoing Group 2 as "modified touring cars", while Group N would replace Group 1 as "standard touring cars". The 1999 Italian Superturismo Championship season was the thirteenth and last edition of the Italian Superturismo Championship. The season began in Misano on 17 April and finished in Vallelunga on 10 October, after ten rounds. Season summary With the withdrawal of Audi the fight for the victory was between only 2 Manufactures (Alfa Romeo and BMW) and only 4 official drivers. Due to the lot of problems had the previous year and the poor tv coverage just 6 private drivers confirmed their participation into the series. The consequence was that the grid was made just by 10 cars. Once again the driver's championship was between Fabrizio Giovanardi and Emanuele Naspetti. The 1998 Italian Superturismo Championship was the twelfth edition of the Italian Superturismo Championship. The season began in Binetto on 17 May and finished in Vallelunga on 4 October, after ten rounds. Season summary The 1998 season started months before into the court between the 2 promoters Salerno Corse (the historical promoter of the serie since 1987) and Sponsor Service who was supported by the 3 manufactures (Alfa, Audi, BMW). After a long discussion after the championship were already started, it was declared that Sponsor Service were the new promoter for the next 3 years. The first change of Sponsor Service was to pass from the smaller TMC channel to Italian state channel RAI TV. The Italian Superturismo Championship (Campionato Italiano Superturismo) is Italy's national motorsport series for touring cars. It was established in 1987 and its drivers' title has been held by such notable drivers as Le Mans winners Emanuele Pirro and Rinaldo Capello, and two-time Champ Car champion Alex Zanardi. The Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) was a touring car racing series held from 1984 to 1996. Originally based in Germany, it held additional rounds elsewhere in Europe and later worldwide.
