Nico Ladenis
Nico Ladenis (22 April 1934 – 10 September 2023) was a British self-taught chef who was the first to gain three Michelin Stars. After gaining a degree in Economics at Hull, he worked at ''The Sunday Times'', where he met his wife Dinah-Jane. They have two daughters, Natasha Robinson, born in 1964 and Isabella Wallace, born in 1966 and one granddaughter, Lily-Rose Wallace, born in 1999. Best known for his fiery temper and his mantra "the customer is not always right", he taught a generation of British chefs who went on to run their own businesses, win Michelin stars and become household names. Chez Nico, a truly family-run restaurant was for many years, the highest-rated restaurant in the UK. It had 3 Michelin Stars, ten out of ten in the '' Good Food Guide'' and 5 AA Rosettes. Tanganyika (territory)
Tanganyika was a colonial territory in East Africa which was administered by the United Kingdom in various forms from 1916 until 1961. It was initially administered under military occupation. From 20 July 1922, it was formalised into a League of Nations mandate under British rule. From 1946, it was administered by the UK as a United Nations trust territory. It bordered British East Africa to the North East. Before World War I, Tanganyika formed part of the German colony of German East Africa. It was gradually occupied by forces from the British Empire and Belgian Congo during the East Africa Campaign, although German resistance continued until 1918. After this, the League of Nations formalised control of the area by the UK, who renamed it "Tanganyika". Moulin De Mougins
The Moulin de Mougins is a celebrated restaurant in France, situated in a 16th-century mill (''moulin'') in the inland French Riviera town of Mougins. Founding chef Roger Vergé made the restaurant's name renowned with his novel and light ''Cuisine de Soleil''. The Moulin is technically classified as an auberge or inn, as it has a couple of guest rooms. As of 30 August 2009, the Moulin was rated four "knives and forks" in the Michelin Guide. Mayfair is an area of Westminster, London, England, in the City of Westminster. It is in Central London and part of the West End. It is between Oxford Street, Regent Street, Piccadilly and Park Lane and one of the most expensive districts in the world.
