Niclas Palmgren
Niclas John-Fredrik Palmgren (born 30 March 1970) is a Swedish politician of the Moderate Party. He served as Mayor of Gislaved Municipality from 2006 to 2014 and was municipal commissioner from 2002 to 2018. He succeeded Bengt-Anders Johansson on the position of municipal commissioner. Following the 2014 elections, Palmgren was elected President of the City Council. From January 2015 to April 2018, Palmgren served as deputy mayor with responsibility for enterprise issues. He is chairman of the municipality's Committee on Construction and the Environment. A politician is a person active in party politics, or a person holding or seeking an elected office in government. Politicians propose, support, reject and create laws that govern the land and by an extension of its people. Moderate Party
The Moderate Party ( sv, Moderata samlingspartiet , ; M), commonly referred to as the Moderates ( ), is a liberal-conservative political party in Sweden. The party generally supports tax cuts, the free market, civil liberties and economic liberalism. Internationally, it is a full member of the International Democrat Union and the European People's Party. The party was founded in 1904 as the General Electoral League (''Allmänna valmansförbundet'' ) by a group of conservatives in the Riksdag, the Swedish parliament. Gislaved Municipality
Gislaved Municipality (''Gislaveds kommun'') is a municipality in Jönköping County in southern Sweden, with its seat located in the town Gislaved. The municipality was created in 1974, when Gislaved locality where amalgamated with the surrounding rural municipalities to form an entity of unitary type. There are seventeen original units making up the present municipality. Within Sweden, and as part of Gnosjö region, it's regarded as being both cultural and industrially dominated. History The municipality has been inhabited for a long time, but without any significant urban areas. At the turn of the 19th century it contained some 700 inhabitants. Bengt-Anders Johansson
Bengt-Anders Johansson (born 7 March 1951) is a Swedish politician of the Moderate Party. He was Member of the Riksdag from 2002 to 2014, representing his home constituency of Jönköping County. Prior to his service in the Riksdag, Johansson was municipal commissioner of Gislaved Municipality from 1992 to 2002 and its Mayor from 1992 to 1994. In the Riksdag, Johansson served as member of the Committee on Environment and Agriculture from 2002 to 2010 and as deputy chairman from 2010 to 2014. He was also member of the Committee on European Union Affairs from 2006 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2014, and a member of the War Delegation from 2010 to 2014. 2014 Swedish General Election
General elections were held in Sweden on 14 September 2014 to elect all 349 seats in the Riksdag, alongside elections for the 21 county councils, and 290 municipal assemblies. The centre-right Alliance for Sweden coalition (comprising the Moderate Party, Liberal People's Party, Centre Party, and Christian Democrats) sought a third term in government. In contrast to the previous election, the three largest parties on the left (the Social Democrats, Green Party, and Left Party) ran independent campaigns, as did the far-right Sweden Democrats. Gnosjö Municipality
Gnosjö Municipality (''Gnosjö kommun'') is a municipality in Jönköping County, southern Sweden where the town Gnosjö is seat. The Swedish local government reform of 1952 formed this municipality out if five former entities, and it has not been amalgamated with others since then. About half of the municipal population live in Gnosjö town, the rest is spread between smaller localities, and rural areas. Gnosjö is referred to as the centre of the Gnosjö region which is an area of enterprising small industries, driven by the distinctive "Gnosjö Spirit". Agne (English: ''Agni''), ''Hogne'' or ''Agni Skjálfarbondi'' was a semi-legendary, king of Sweden, of the House of Yngling. Snorri Sturluson relates that he was the son of Dag the Wise, and he was mighty and famous. He was also skilled in many ways. One summer, he went to Finland with his army where he pillaged.
