Nicky Hayen
Nicky Hayen (born 16 August 1980) is a Belgian professional football manager and former player who is currently the head coach of Belgian Pro League club Club Brugge. Career From 1999 on, Hayen played nine seasons at the highest level of Belgian professional football with Sint-Truiden, before moving to RBC Roosendaal in the second division in the Netherlands for two seasons. He returned to Belgium in 2010 by joining Oud-Heverlee Leuven and was part of the team achieving promotion to the Belgian Pro League. In the summer of 2012, he was loaned out for one season to Antwerp, but when the season ended he was released and became player-coach at Dender EH in the Belgian Third Division. In February 2014, he was relieved of his coaching duties at Dender EH due to bad result, but stayed with the team as player. The Belgian Third Division (, ) was the third highest level in Football in Belgium, Belgian football. It had two leagues of 18 teams each (Belgian Third Division A, A and Belgian Third Division B, B) at the same level. In association football, the Belgian Golden Shoe (, , German: ''Goldener Schuh'') is an award given in Belgium at the beginning of each civil year to the best footballer of the Belgian Pro League for the past year. The trophy is sponsored by the Belgian newspaper . The voters are a selection of Belgian press specialists and football personalities. They are invited to vote for the best player of the competition for both half seasons (previous season second half and current season first half) and each get to submit a top three, scoring 3, 2 and 1 point respectively. The 2024–25 Belgian Cup, called the Croky Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 70th season of Belgium's annual football cup competition. The competition began on 28 July 2024. The winners of the competition qualified for the 2025–26 UEFA Europa League. Royale Union Saint-Gilloise were the defending champions. The Belgian Cup (; ; ) is the main knockout football competition in Belgium, run by the Royal Belgian FA. The competition started in 1908 with provincial selections as the "Belgian Provinces Cup".
