Nickelodeon Arabia
Nickelodeon was a pan-Arab pay television channel for kids that was exclusively available on OSN. It is the official Arabic-localised variant of Nickelodeon and until 2011, it was the last remaining channel to retain the 'splat' logo that was used from 1984 to 2009 in the United States. History Originally launched in June 1996 on Showtime Arabia, although at the time it was solely available in English. A standalone feed for Middle Eastern audiences was launched on 23 July 2008 with Arabic and English audio tracks. Nickelodeon was the second international children's television network to establish an Arabic language service, the first being Disney Channel. Nickelodeon Global (formerly Nickelodeon Europe and Nickelodeon Export) is a specialized children's television channel and the international version of the American Nickelodeon channel. It is operated by Paramount Networks EMEAA in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, and by Paramount Networks Americas in Latin America and Brazil. History Nickelodeon Export Since the late 1980s, many European countries, including the USSR in 1988, have hosted the American version of the channel, where Nickelodeon became available without translation. This expansion followed the strategy used in 1987 for launching MTV Networks Europe. Disney Channel is a children's pay television channel owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company Limited, the international business division of the Walt Disney Company serving television markets across the Middle East (except Iran, Israel, Syria, and Turkey), North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Greece, Cyprus, the Baltics, and most of the Balkans (excluding Albania, Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova, including Croatia and Slovenia). Originally launched on 2 April 1997 as a channel in the Middle East and North Africa; exclusively for Orbit TV (now OSN) subscribers, it began expanding to markets in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2006 and the Balkans. The Fairly OddParents
''The Fairly OddParents'' is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. The series follows the adventures of Timmy Turner, a 10-year-old boy with two Fairy godmother, fairy godparents named List of The Fairly OddParents characters#Cosmo and Wanda, Cosmo and Wanda who grant him wishes to solve his everyday problems. The series originated from shorts on Nickelodeon's animation showcase ''Oh Yeah! Cartoons'' that aired from 1998 to 2002. Due to their popularity, the shorts were greenlit to become a half-hour series, which premiered on March 30, 2001. Originally, the series ended on November 25, 2006, totaling five seasons and 80 episodes, but it was revived in 2008. Nicktoons is a British pay television channel launched on 22 July 2002 as Nicktoons TV. It is a cartoon-centric sister channel to Nickelodeon. The channel airs Nickelodeon's original animated series, as with all of the Nickelodeon networks domestically. History On 19 July 2002, Nick Jr. moved to channel 624 on Sky, to vacate its original 606 number for Nicktoons to launch on the following Monday. It showed a static screen with the Nicktoons logo and a notice displaying Nick Jr.'s new slot. Nicktoons launched on 22 July 2002 as "Nicktoons TV". Test Card
A test card, also known as a test pattern or start-up/closedown test, is a television test signal, typically broadcast at times when the transmitter is active but no program is being broadcast (often at sign-on and sign-off). Used since the earliest TV broadcasts, test cards were originally physical cards at which a television camera was pointed, allowing for simple adjustments of picture quality. Such cards are still often used for calibration, alignment, and matching of cameras and camcorders. From the 1950s, test card images were built into monoscope tubes which freed up the use of TV cameras which would otherwise have to be rotated to continuously broadcast physical test cards during downtime hours. MBC 3 (Middle East)
MBC 3 is a free-to-air children's channel launched on 8 December 2004, and appeals to children under the age of 15. All foreign television animated programs are dubbed into Arabic. The channel also produces its own original programmes. It is owned by the Middle Eastern company MBC Group. MBC 3 started airing Nickelodeon shows since 21 November 2010. It includes Nicktoons such as '' T.U.F.F. Puppy'', ''The Fairly OddParents'' and ''SpongeBob SquarePants'' are also present in the channel, but they are also dubbed in Arabic. MTV Middle East
MTV Middle East, formerly MTV Arabia, was a free-to-air music television channel, and the Middle Eastern incarnation of MTV. As an addition to the MTV network, it was a joint venture between MTV Networks International and Arabian Television Network, a subsidiary of Arabian Broadcasting Network, and part of Arab Media Group, the largest media group in the United Arab Emirates. Launched as MTV Arabia, the channel was rebranded as MTV Middle East on August 30, 2011. The channel began its initial broadcast on October 27, 2007, and was launched on November 17, 2007. As of 5 January 2015, MTV Middle East has stopped airing on Nilesat, and moved the whole localised channel to pay TV model on OSN under the name MTV Live HD.
