Nick Nastrini
Nicholas Nastrini (born February 18, 2000) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Chicago White Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2024. Amateur career Nastrini attended Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego, California, where he played on their baseball team. As a senior in 2018, he went 8-2 with a 2.41 ERA and 44 strikeouts over innings. That summer, he played in the West Coast League for the Bellingham Bells. Nastrini went undrafted in the 2018 Major League Baseball draft and enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to play college baseball for the UCLA Bruins. As a freshman at UCLA in 2019, Nastrini made four starts and posted a 1.37 ERA over innings, missing a majority of the season due to thoracic outlet syndrome. UCLA Bruins Baseball
The UCLA Bruins baseball team is the varsity college baseball team of the University of California, Los Angeles. Having started playing in 1920, the program is a member of the NCAA Division I Pac-12 Conference. It plays its home games at Jackie Robinson Stadium. 2021 Major League Baseball Draft
The 2021 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft took place on July 11–13, 2021. In conjunction with the 2021 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, the draft was held in Denver. The draft assigned amateur baseball players to MLB teams. The draft order was set based on the reverse order of the 2020 MLB season standings. The California Collegiate League (CCL), founded in 1993, is a collegiate summer baseball league headquartered in Moorpark, California, United States. It is associated with both the National Baseball Congress and National Alliance of College Summer Baseball.
