Nick Fozzard
Nick Fozzard (born 22 July 1977) is an English former professional rugby league footballer. He played at representative level for Great Britain and Yorkshire, and at club level for the Leeds Rhinos, Huddersfield Giants, Warrington Wolves, St Helens, Hull Kingston Rovers, Castleford Tigers, and in the Championship for the Dewsbury Rams. Career Early career Born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England, Fozzard signed for Leeds in 1993 from amateur club Shaw Cross, and made his first team debut in April 1994 against St Helens. He was signed by Huddersfield Giants in May 1997. Fozzard missed almost two full seasons after suffering a broken arm in a match against London Broncos in March 2000, and then breaking his arm a second time 10 months later. He joined Warrington Wolves in 2002, before signing for St Helens in 2004. St Helens Fozzard played for Saints in their 32–16 win against Wigan Warriors in the 2004 Challenge Cup final. 2005 Rugby League Tri-Nations
The majority of the 2005 Rugby League Tri-Nations was played in Great Britain and Australasia. The final was played between Australia and New Zealand at Elland Road on Saturday 26 November. New Zealand won the match 24-0 and were crowned 2005 Tri-Nations champions, breaking Australia's 27-year undefeated international tournament record. League Leaders' Shield
The League Leaders' Shield is a shield awarded to the team finishing the season top of Super League in the sport of rugby league football. Currently, and for most of Super League's history, the championship is decided on the basis of a play-off series with a Grand Final, so the Shield is regarded as a lesser prize. History From 1907 until 1973 the Championship was awarded to the team winning a top-four play-off (excluding the 2 seasons 1962–63 and 1963–64, when the championship was awarded to the top-placed team). From 1907 to 1962 no prize was awarded to the team finishing top. From 1965 to 1973 a 'League Leaders' Trophy' was introduced to reward the team finishing top. 2007 Challenge Cup
The 2007 Carnegie Challenge Cup began in February 2007. The Challenge Cup is the most prestigious knock-out competition in the world of rugby league, featuring teams from across Europe including England, Scotland, Wales, France and Russia. In 2007 the preliminary round was dropped, reducing the number of amateur clubs involved. Catalans Dragons
The Catalans Dragons (French: ''Dragons Catalans'', Catalan: ''Dracs Catalans'') are a professional rugby league club from Perpignan, Pyrénées-Orientales department, France. The team competes in the Super League and are the only team from outside England. The Dragons play regular home games at Stade Gilbert Brutus in the centre of the city. Catalans Dragons are the first non-British team to win the Challenge Cup since the competition started in 1896, after beating Warrington Wolves 20–14 at Wembley Stadium on 25 August 2018. The 2007 Carnegie World Club Challenge was played between Super League XI champions, St. Helens and 2006 National Rugby League premiers, the Brisbane Broncos. It was a replay of the 2001 World Club Challenge, and both clubs' fifth WCC appearance. The match was played on the night of 23 February at Reebok Stadium, Bolton before a crowd of 23,207.
