Nick Barat (born January 25, 1981), better known by his stage name Nick Catchdubs, is an American record producer and DJ from New Jersey. He is a co-founder of Fool's Gold Records. He has also served as an associate editor at ''The Fader''. In 2013, ''Stereogum'' called him "the best party DJ in the game right now." He resides in Brooklyn, New York. Career In 2012, Barat released ''After Hours'', a collaborative mixtape with rapper Jackie Chain. It was chosen by ''Stereogum'' as their Mixtape of the Week. In that year, he performed live with Danny Brown at the MoMA PS1's Warm Up. In 2013, he released his first single, "Bizness", which featured vocal contributions from Iamsu! and Jay Ant. In 2014, he released "Wuts That", a single which featured rapper B.I.C. In 2015, he released his first studio album, ''Smoke Machine''. Spring Awakening Music Festival
Spring Awakening Music Festival (SAMF) was an annual electronic dance music (EDM) festival held in Chicago. The festival started at a theater in 2008, moved to Soldier Field in 2012–2015, and to Addams/Medill Park in 2016–2018. In 2019, the festival moved to the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was not held in 2020, and the 2021 event was held in October at Addams/Medill Park. The 2022 festival was scheduled to be held at the United Center on July 8–10, but was subsequently cancelled. History Spring Awakening was founded as a concert series in 2008. The event eventually outgrew the theater, and in 2012 SAMF was turned into a two-day outdoor music festival at Soldier Field by the Chicago-based promoting agency React Presents. ''The Mixtape About Nothing'' is the fourth mixtape by American rapper Wale, released on May 30, 2008. It was mixed by Nick Catchdubs, and released as a collaboration with New York streetwear brand 10.Deep Clothing as a free download. Theme Wale was inspired by the show ''Seinfeld''. Wale claims he has "seen every episode". The mixtape samples extensively from Seinfeld, and Wale peppers his raps with frequent reference to jokes and catch phrases from the series. Each track follows the series' naming conventions for episodes, formatting each title with the definitive article "The". In the track "The Kramer," Wale raps about use of the word "nigger," referring to the Michael Richards Laugh Factory incident, which Wale also attacks across the rest of the mixtape. ''100 Miles & Running'' is the third official mixtape by Washington, D.C. rapper Wale. It was released on July 11, 2007. The mixtape was mixed by Nick Catchdubs and featured remixes of songs by Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen and Justice. The mixtape also includes appearances from Daniel Merriweather, Mark Ronson and Tabi Bonney.
