Best And Fairest
In Australian sport, the best and fairest award recognises the player(s) adjudged to have had the best performance in a game or over a season for a given sporting club or competition. The awards are sometimes dependent on not receiving a suspension for misconduct or breaching the rules during that season. It is similar to most valuable player (MVP) awards in other team sports. In the Australian Football League (AFL), the Brownlow Medal is awarded to the player who, provided he has not been suspended during the season, receives the most votes from the umpire (Australian rules football), umpires for being the fairest and best player in games during the season (sports), home-and-away season. In each game, the umpires award three votes to the player they judge to be the best afield in that game, two votes to the second-best player, and one vote to the third-best player. The Tiwi Bombers Football Club is an Australian rules football club, currently competing in the Northern Territory Football League. The club is notable as being the first all-Indigenous Australian, Aboriginal team to play in a major competition. The team is affiliated with the Essendon Football Club, where two famous Tiwi Island products Michael Long (footballer), Michael Long and Dean Rioli played their football in the national Australian Football League (AFL). Shannon Rusca is a former professional Australian rules football player. Early life Rusca began playing senior Australian Football with Southern Districts in the Northern Territory Football League. Marty Christensen
Martin Christensen (born 10 September 1965) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong and North Melbourne in the Victorian/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL). Christensen was a semi-regular fixture in the Geelong senior team from 1985 to 1988 as a wingman and defender. Recruited from Lara, he missed just three games in 1986 and averaged 17 disposals per match in 1987. However Christensen did not play a senior game in 1989 and over the following two seasons could only manage nine appearances, the last of which was the 1991 preliminary final loss to the West Coast Eagles. Christensen moved to North Melbourne in 1992 but was delisted at the end of an injury interrupted season. North Melbourne redrafted Christensen again, with the 123rd selection in the draft. They were first called Internationals before entering the NTFL, then they were called North Darwin from the 1972/73 to 1995/96 season. Michael Wayne Graham (born 11 January 1952) is a former Australian rules footballer. He played with in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) and St Mary's in the Northern Territory Football League (NTFL) during the 1970s and 1980s.
