Nicholas Shortill
Nicholas Shortill (born November 16, 1992) is a professional Canadian football linebacker who is currently a free agent. He was most recently a member of the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Early life He was raised in Nobleton, Ontario, and attended McMaster University where he played for four years for the McMaster Marauders football team. Professional career Shortill was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes with the 13th pick in the 2015 CFL Draft and played for the Alouettes in 35 games over two years. He was traded to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats where he spent three years with the team. Upon entering free agency, on February 11, 2020, Shortill signed with the Toronto Argonauts. Nobleton, Ontario
Nobleton (2021 population 6,507) is an unincorporated community in southwestern King, Ontario, Canada. It is the third-largest community in the township, after King City and Schomberg. Located south of the Oak Ridges Moraine, Nobleton is surrounded by hills and forests. Many horse farms are found on Nobleton's eastern periphery. It is located between King City and Bolton along King Road, and directly north of Kleinburg along Highway 27. To the northwest is Hammertown. Geography Nobleton is at an elevation of approximately 300 m, just south of the regional peak of the Oak Ridges Moraine. The Humber River flows in the southwestern part with a conservation area covering the southwest. 2015 CFL Draft
The 2015 CFL Draft took place on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at 8:00 PM ET on TSN2 and RDS2. 62 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. For the first time since the 2006 CFL Draft, an NCAA player was drafted first overall, with Alex Mateas from the University of Connecticut being selected with the top pick. Six offensive linemen were drafted in the first round, which broke the previous record of five in the 1987 CFL Draft. A total of 44 CIS football players were selected in the draft with the Calgary Dinos earning the most selected players with seven, including two within the first three picks. 13 trades were made involving 15 draft picks, with all of the trades occurring before the draft. 2020 CFL Season
The 2020 CFL season would have been the 67th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it would have been the 63rd season of the Canadian Football League. It was originally scheduled to begin on June 11; on April 7, the start of the season was delayed to begin no sooner than July due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The CFL planned to obtain financial assistance from the federal government. In May, the CFL delayed the season to no sooner than September, and announced that the Grey Cup was to be played as a home advantage game rather than as a neutral site game in Regina, Saskatchewan, as originally planned. The Silhouette
''The Silhouette'' (founded circa 1930) is a student newspaper at McMaster University, located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The masthead staff consists of the Editor-in-Chief, a recently graduated student from McMaster, and approximately 15 paid full-time students. The newspaper is published every Thursday during the academic year, and once during each summer month. The circulation is 3,000 copies per week. The paper contains six major sections; news, opinions, sports, features, arts and culture, and Humans of McMaster. The paper switched from broadsheet quarter fold to tabloid in August, 2014. In September, 2021, the paper switched from tabloid to 8.5x11" in order to focus on rebranding the ''Sil'' in an accessible format. Among the student population at McMaster, the paper is known as ''the Sil''.
