Niamh Regan
Niamh Regan (; born 1994) is an Irish folk singer from County Galway. Early life Regan grew up in Kilreekill. In 2008, age 14, she appeared on the RTÉ children's talent show ''Class Act''. She received a BA in Music in the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. She then qualified as a teacher through Hibernia College and was not planning a musical career until the COVID lockdowns. Career In 2020 Regan released her debut album ''Hemet'', recorded during the COVID lockdowns. It was nominated for the Choice Music Prize. Her second album ''Come As You Are'', recorded at Attica Audio Recording in Letterkenny, was also nominated for the Choice Music Prize. Choice Music Prize
The Choice Music Prize (), known for sponsorship reasons as the RTÉ Choice Music Prize is an annual music prize awarded to music from a band or solo musician who is born in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland or holds an Irish passport. For bands, the majority of members must have been born on the island of Ireland or hold an Irish passport. After being broadcast on Today FM for nearly eleven years, in November 2016, it was announced that the Choice Music Prize would broadcast on RTÉ 2fm starting in 2017.
