Niall Mitchell
Niall Mitchell(born 1997) is an Irish hurler who plays as a centre-forward for the Westmeath senior team. Born in Clonkill, County Westmeath, Mitchell first played competitive hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Clonkill club. He subsequently played with the club's senior team, winning a county championship medal in 2015. Mitchell made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he was selected for the Westmeath minor team. He had two championship seasons with the minor team, before later joining the under-21 team. Mitchell made his debut with the Westmeath senior team during the 2016 championship. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. It is composed of three villages: Bord (''Bord''), Cucerdea, and Șeulia de Mureș (''Oláhsályi''). The 2016 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 129th staging of the All-Ireland championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. Hurling ( ga, iománaíocht, ') is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic Irish origin, played by men. One of Ireland's native Gaelic games, it shares a number of features with Gaelic football, such as the field and goals, the number of players and much terminology.
