Nguyễn Thị Huyền (born 19 May 1993) is a Vietnamese runner and hurdling, hurdler who specializes in the 400 m distance. At the 2014 Asian Games Nguyễn finished seventh in the Athletics at the 2014 Asian Games – Women's 400 metres, 400 metres and fifth in the Athletics at the 2014 Asian Games – Women's 4 × 400 metres relay, 4 × 400 m relay. At the 2015 Southeast Asian Games Nguyễn won the 400 m, 400 m hurdles, and 4×400 m relay and set List of Southeast Asian Games records in athletics, games records in the latter two events. Her results in these games gave her two individual qualifying times for the 2015 World Championships in Athletics and the 2016 Olympics. Hurdling is the act of jumping over an obstacle at a high speed or in a sprint. In the early 19th century, hurdlers ran at and jumped over each hurdle (sometimes known as 'burgles'), landing on both feet and checking their forward motion. The 2015 IAAF World Championships ( zh, 第十五届世界田径锦标赛), the fifteenth edition of the IAAF World Championships, were held from 22 to 30 August at the National Stadium in Beijing, China.
