Ngatiyana
Ngatiyana (born 5 July 1961) is an Indonesian politician and former military officer. He served as the mayor of Cimahi, West Java between 2020 and 2022, mostly as acting mayor, after serving as the city's vice-mayor between 2017 and 2020. Early life Ngatiyana was born in Bantul Regency on 5 July 1961. After completing his studies at a technical school in Yogyakarta, he moved to Jakarta for work, and later moving to Bandung to work at Indonesian Aerospace. He resigned from his job to enroll in the Indonesian Army in 1983. Career After completing basic training, Ngatiyana was deployed to East Timor where he served until 1988. He would return to East Timor between 1990 and 1992, before joining the Officer Candidate School. He then became the adjutant to Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan in Pandjaitan's various military and civilian postings, until 2001 when Pandjaitan ended his tenure as Minister of Industry and Trade. 2024 Cimahi Mayoral Election
The 2024 Cimahi mayoral election was held on 27 November 2024 as part of nationwide local elections to elect the mayor and vice mayor of Cimahi, West Java for a five-year term. The previous election was held in 2017. Former Mayor Ngatiyana of the National Awakening Party (PKB) won the election with 41% of the vote. Former Cimahi City Secretary Dikdik Suratno Nugrahawan of Golkar placed second with 34%, followed by Bilal Insan M. Priyatna of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), who received 23%. Electoral system The election, like other local elections in 2024, follow the first-past-the-post system where the candidate with the most votes wins the election, even if they do not win a majority. It is possible for a candidate to run uncontested, in which case the candidate is still required to win a majority of votes "against" an " empty box" option. Cimahi () is a landlocked city located immediately west of the larger city of Bandung, in West Java Province, Indonesia and within the Bandung Metropolitan Area. The Corruption Eradication Commission (), abbreviated as KPK, is an Indonesian government agency established to prevent and fight corruption in the country. History Background Anti-corruption efforts began in Indonesia in the 1950s. 2017 Indonesian Local Elections
Local elections were held in Indonesia on 15 February 2017, with a single run-off for Jakarta on 19 April 2017. The series of elections was the second time local elections were held simultaneously across the country after the 2015 local elections. In total, the election contested 7 gubernatorial, 18 mayoral and 76 regent seats with 41 million eligible voters and 337 candidate pairs. Like other local elections in Indonesia (except for Jakarta), the elections followed a simple majority, first-past-the-post system where the candidates with the most votes automatically wins the seat even if they have less than 50% of the votes.
