Nezam Hafiz
Nezam Ahmed Hafiz (21 April 1969 – 11 September 2001) was a Guyanese-born American cricketer. Hafiz was a right-handed middle order batsman (cricket), batsman who bowled right-arm Seam bowling, medium pace. He was killed in the 1 World Trade Center (1970–2001), North Tower during the September 11 attacks. Cricket career Having played cricket from a young age, Hafiz captained the Guyana Under-19 cricket team in the 1988 Northern Telecom Youth Tournament, a tournament with other under-19 teams from the West Indies. His first match as under-19 captain came against Trinidad and Tobago Under-19s, captained by Brian Lara. Hafiz made his first-class cricket, first-class debut later that year for Demerara cricket team, Demerara in the final of the 1988/89 Guystac Trophy against Berbice cricket team, Berbice, with the match ending in a draw. Rose Hall, Guyana
Rose Hall is a community in the East Berbice-Corentyne Region of Guyana. Rose Hall is 14 miles east of New Amsterdam, Guyana, New Amsterdam. History Rose Hall was once owned by Dutch planters and later purchased by former slaves. In 1908, it acquired village status; and it wasn't until 1970 that it became a town. Guystac Trophy
The Guystac Trophy was a Guyanese inter-county cricket tournament, the final of which had first-class status. The tournament was played annually, the final being usually between Demerara and Berbice Berbice () is a region along the Berbice River in Guyana, which was between 1627 and 1792 a colony of the Dutch West India Company and between 1792 and 1815 a colony of the Dutch state. The National September 11 Memorial & Museum (also known as the 9/11 Memorial & Museum) is a memorial and museum that are part of the World Trade Center complex, in New York City, created for remembering the September 11 attacks in 2001 which killed 2,977 people, as well as the February 26, 1993 World Trade Center bombing which killed six. The 1998–99 Red Stripe Bowl was the 25th season of what is now the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). It ran from 6 to 19 October 1998. Eight teams contested the competition – the six regular teams of West Indian domestic cricket (Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Windward Islands), plus two invited international teams from the ICC Americas region (Bermuda and the United States). The Windward Islands cricket team is a cricket team representing the member countries of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control. The Super50 Cup, currently named the CG Insurance Super50 Cup for sponsorship purposes is the domestic one-day cricket competition in the West Indies. In cricket, a player's batting average is the total number of runs they have scored divided by the number of times they have been out, usually given to two decimal places. Since the number of runs a player scores and how often they get out are primarily measures of their own playing ability, and largely independent of their teammates, batting average is a good metric for an individual player's skill as a batter (although the practice of drawing comparisons between players on this basis is not without criticism). The Leeward Islands cricket team is a first-class cricket team representing the member countries of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association, an associate of the West Indies Cricket Board. Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts, Nevis, Anguilla, Montserrat, British Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands and Sint Maarten are members of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association.
