Neyyar (river)
The Neyyar River is 56 km long river which flows through the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala in India. It flows from the Agastya Mala (''Agastyarkoodam'') in the Western Ghats. The town Neyyattinkara in Thiruvananthapuram district, is situated on the banks of the river, is named after this river. The river flows through the Neyyar wildlife sanctuary and into the Neyyar resorvoir. It then flows towards the west through the settlements of Kallikkad, Kattakkada, Ottashekharamangalam, Mandapathinkavadu, Keezharoor, Perumkadavilla, Aruvipuram, Neyyantinkara and Thirupuram. The river then empties into the Arabian Sea at the Poovar estuary. Tributaries include the ''Kallar'', ''Mullayar'', and the ''Karavaliyar''. Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary
The Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary in the southern state of Kerala in India is spread over the southeast corner of the Western Ghats, and covers a total area of . It is located between 77° 8’ to 77° 17’ east longitude and 8° 29’ to 8° 37’ north latitude, central location . Although it was declared as a sanctuary in 1958, not much was done about wildlife conservation biology, conservation, until 1985, when a separate wildlife wing was set up and as a result, conservation efforts have gathered momentum. It is part of the Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve. Geography This is the drainage basin for the Neyyar River and its tributaries - Mullayar and Kallar. Aruvippuram
Aruvippuram is a village in the southern district of Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, India. It is famous for the Siva temple established by Sri Narayana Guru. The Guru consecrated the Siva idol, the first non Brahmin to do so in Kerala society, in the year 1888.
