Nextdoor Holdings, Inc. is an American company that operates a hyperlocal social networking service for neighborhoods. The company was founded in 2008 and is based in San Francisco, California. Nextdoor launched in the United States in October 2011. It is available in eleven countries as of May 2023. In 2024, the company claimed to have 88 million "neighbors" as members. Users of Nextdoor are required to submit their legal names and addresses to the website, and addresses are confirmed using postcards with verification codes. History Nirav Tolia, Sarah Leary, Prakash Janakiraman and David Wiesen co-founded Nextdoor in 2008. Tolia had previously helped start Epinions. Sarah Jane Friar (born 24 December 1972) is an Irish-American business executive who is the chief financial officer of OpenAI since June 2024. She was the chief executive officer of American technology company Nextdoor from 2018 through 2024, and was chief financial officer of Block, Inc. (formerly Square, Inc.) between 2012 and 2018. Richard Barton (born June 2, 1967) is an American internet entrepreneur who is the co-executive chairman and a former two-time chief executive officer of Zillow Group, a company he co-founded in 2006.
