Newtype Anime Awards
is a monthly magazine originating from Japan covering anime and, to a lesser extent, manga, Voice acting in Japan, voice actors, science fiction, , and Video game, video games. It was launched by publishing company Kadokawa Shoten on March 8, 1985, and has since been released in Japan on the 10th of every month. ''Newtype Korea'' was formerly published in South Korea. Spin-off publications of ''Newtype'' also exist in Japan, such as ''Newtype Hero'' and ''Newtype the Live'', which are dedicated to and ''NewWORDS'', which is geared toward a more adult market, as well as numerous limited-run versions such as ''Clamp Newtype''. An English language version, ''Newtype USA'', was published in North America between 2002 and 2008. is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ryoko Kui. It was serialized in Enterbrain's seinen manga, manga magazine ''Harta (magazine), Harta'' from February 2014 to September 2023, with its chapters collected in 14 volumes. The story follows a group of adventurers in a fantasy world who, after failing to defeat a dragon that consumed one of their own, embark on a journey through a dungeon to revive her, surviving by cooking and eating the monsters they encounter along the way. is a manga by Yukiru Sugisaki. It was followed by ''Lagoon Engine Einsatz''. The main protagonists are Yen and Jin Ragun. The name "Lagoon Engine" is derived from the phonetic pronunciation of the main characters' names (Ragun Yen Jin). Volume 6 was released on December 1, 2009. Volume 7 was released in September 2010 in the US. Plot ''Lagoon Engine'' revolves around two characters: 12-year-old Yen, and 11-year-old Jin. is a science fiction manga series created by Mamoru Nagano, building on his work on the anime series '' Heavy Metal L-Gaim''. Mamoru Nagano
is a Japanese manga artist, animator, and mecha and character designer. Born in Maizuru, Kyoto Prefecture, he is noted for his work with anime studio Sunrise. He is married to voice actress Maria Kawamura. Career Mamoru Nagano made his professional debut in 1984 working with Yoshiyuki Tomino on the TV series ''Heavy Metal L-Gaim''. ''Fool for the City'', his first manga, came out in 1985 but it was 1986 that brought ''The Five Star Stories'', which is still in production today. Nagano founded Toys Press, Inc. to publish much of his work. His work in ''Heavy Metal L-Gaim'' introducing mecha with armor plates that appeared to fit loosely over an internal skeleton. Monica Jean Rial (born October 5, 1975) is an American voice actress and ADR script writer affiliated with Funimation/Crunchyroll, ADV Films/ Sentai Filmworks and Toei Animation USA. She provides voices for English language versions of Japanese anime films and television series. Early life Monica Rial was born in Houston, Texas. Her father is from Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain. When she was young, her family would often visit Spain. She would translate for her younger brother some of the European Spanish-dubbed cartoons, which included anime shows ''Doraemon'' and '' Dragon Ball Z'', often imitating the various characters. Rial studied ballet, tap, and jazz, but transitioned to musical theater when she was 12. She studied acting through high school as well as college at the University of Houston. Jonathan Michael Clements (born 9 July 1971) is a British author and scriptwriter. His non-fiction works include biographies of Confucius, Koxinga and Qin Shi Huang, as well as monthly opinion columns for '' Neo'' magazine. He is also the co-author of encyclopedias of anime and Japanese television dramas. Background Clements speaks both Chinese and Japanese, and many of his works relate to East Asia.
