Newcastleton F.C.
Hearts of Liddesdale Football Club was a football club based in Newcastleton, in the Scottish Borders. History Newcastleton F.C. The club was founded in 1880 as Newcastleton. The club quickly gathered 50 members and, thanks to the training of William M'Kinnon of Dumbarton, who worked in the district as a schoolmaster, was dominant on the small local football scene; between 1882 and 1885 it played 19 matches, winning 17 and losing 2. In August 1883 the club joined the Scottish Football Association, and entered the 1883–84 Scottish Cup. Without an obvious region to join, the club was given a bye to the second round, and drawn at home to Heart of Midlothian. The remoteness of the club meant that Hearts arranged for the 10.30am mail train from Edinburgh to stop at the village and, to make a 1.30pm kick-off, they went straight from the station to the ground to kick off. Cumberland Senior Cup
The Cumberland Cup is the current senior county cup in the ancient county of Cumberland. It is administered by the Cumberland Football Association (CFA). According to the current rules of the competition, it is open to all clubs whose first affiliation is with the CFA. Currently Carlisle United are the only professional team from the football league in the competition since Workington left the football league in 1977, so as a result they now tend to enter their reserve team. Other teams that enter are Workington, Cleator Moor Celtic, Penrith, Carlisle City, Whitehaven, and Windscale are from different levels of non-league. The Northern Premier League Division One North West, North West Counties league, Northern League, West Lancashire League and The Wearside League are represented by these teams. The FA Amateur Cup was an England, English football (soccer), football competition for amateur clubs. It commenced in 1893 and ended in 1974 when the Football Association abolished official amateur status. Scottish Junior Football Association
The Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) is an affiliated national association of the Scottish Football Association and is the governing body for the junior grade of football (soccer), football in Scotland. The term "junior" refers to the level of football played, not the age of the players. The closest equivalent terminology would be non-League football in England, the difference being that junior football in Scotland was not similarly integrated into its Scottish football league system, football league system until 2021. The 1887–88 Scottish Cup was the 15th season of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. Renton won the competition for the second time after they beat Cambuslang 6–1 in the final. The result set a new record as the largest margin of victory in a Scottish Cup Final - a record that was equalled by Celtic in 1972 but has never been bettered. Moffat ( gd, Mofad) is a burgh and parish in Dumfriesshire, now part of the Dumfries and Galloway local authority area in Scotland. It lies on the River Annan, with a population of around 2,500. It was a centre of the wool trade and a spa town. Moffat is around to the southeast of Glasgow, southwest of Edinburgh, northeast of Dumfries and northwest of Carlisle. The Moffat House Hotel, located at the northern end of the High Street, was designed by John Adam.
