New Jagannath Road (also known as Nua Jagannath Sadak/Jagannath Sadak )- The road to Jagannath Dham, Puri : Total length: 96 km, covering three major districts of Odisha - Puri, Khurdha, and Nayagarh. It passes through six assembly segments. Road is from Biranarsinghpur of Puri to Sarankula of Nayagarh. Road inaugurated: 1996 by Janaki Ballabh Patnaik, former CM, Odisha. Road work started: 1987 Road completed: 1996 (before Nabakalebara). Road connecting NH-203 with NH-5, also connects NH-203(A) with NH-224. It connects Puri with Western Odisha and Southern Odisha; also connecting it with western India and southern India. Most of the road is made from concrete because the road passes through the maximum flood areas. On 9 July 2015 Union minister of Road Transport and National Highway Shree Nitin Gadkari declared New Jagannath Sadak as a National Highway. Puri, also known as Jagannath Puri, () is a coastal city and a Nagar Palika, municipality in the state of Odisha in eastern India. It is the district headquarters of Puri district and is situated on the Bay of Bengal, south of the state capital of Bhubaneswar. Nayagarh
Nayagarh is both a town and the municipality headquarters of the Nayagarh District, Nayagarh district in the Indian States and territories of India, state of Odisha. Geography Nayagarh is located at with an average elevation of 178 metres (584 feet). Khurdha
Khordha district is an administrative division of the state of Odisha, India. It was formed on April 1, 1993, by the division of former Puri District into Puri, Khordha and Nayagarh districts. In the year 2000 the district name was changed to Khordha. The district headquarters is Khordha Town. The capital city of Bhubaneswar is located in this district. Janaki Ballabh Patnaik
Janaki Ballabh Patnaik (3 January 1927 – 21 April 2015) was an Indian politician who had been 25th Governor of Assam from 2009 to 2014. A leader of the Indian National Congress, he was Chief Minister of Odisha from 1980 to 1989 and again from 1995 to 1999, holding that post for the longest time on record before Naveen Patnaik. Nabakalevara
Nabakalebara also spelled as Navakalevara () is the ritualistic recreation of the wooden icons of four Hindu deities (Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra, and Sudarshana) at Jagannath Temple, Puri. The ritual is performed during the 8th, 12th, or 19th year after the previous Nabakalebara. Nabakalebara is an important festival in the Hindu Odia calendar, observed in the Jagannath Temple, Puri.
