New Heys Comprehensive School
New Heys Comprehensive School or New Heys Community College was an English comprehensive school in Liverpool specialising within Business. The school worked closely with businesses such as the New Mersey Retail Park, Jaguar and Scottish Power to provide their children with a taste of business life. Merger It was announced in early 2009, that New Heys Comprehensive would move to St Benedicts' Catholic College and form a new, 'Business and Faith Academy' on the Garston site, leaving the original New Heys to be rebuilt to form a housing development. This comes as one of the major changes that will happen in and around 2011 to 2017. Speke () is a suburb of Liverpool. It is southeast of the city centre. Garston, Merseyside
Garston is a district of Liverpool. Historically in Lancashire, it is bordered by the suburbs of Grassendale, Allerton, and Speke. It lies on the Eastern banks of the River Mersey. History In medieval times, Garston was home to a group of Benedictine monks. The first recorded mention of settlement in Garston is of the Church of St Michael in 1235. By the 19th century, the area had become a small village, one of the eight townships forming the parish of Childwall. A small dock was first built at Garston in 1793 for Blackburne's Saltworks, which still stands today. Garston's growth accelerated rapidly in the 1840s, when in 1846, the area's first dock was constructed and opened, under the auspices of the St Helens and Runcorn Gap Railway Company. The Academy Of St Nicholas
The Academy of St Nicholas, previously known as Enterprise South Liverpool Academy (ESLA), is a joint Roman Catholic and Church of England secondary school located in Garston, Liverpool, England. The school is co-educational from years 7 to 11 including the sixth form, All Saints Sixth Form College, for ages 16–19. The school opened in a building costing £23.4m in February 2013. It is a mixed-faith school that accepts students of all faiths and none. Ofsted Reports An Ofsted inspection in October 2012 found that ESLA “required improvement”, they then went into special measures in October 2014. The school received £1.2 million emergency funding in 2012 and in 2013/2014 - only £131,00 of which needs to be repaid. In 2014 Parklands High School in Liverpool closed down and ESLA agreed to take some of the students in, while their Ofsted report was Inadequate.
