New (album)
''New'' is the sixteenth solo studio album by English musician Paul McCartney, released on 11 October 2013 through MPL Communications, Hear Music, and Universal International. The album was his first since 2007's '' Memory Almost Full'' to consist entirely of new compositions. The album was executive produced by Giles Martin, with production by Martin, Mark Ronson, Ethan Johns and Paul Epworth and it was mastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound, New York. McCartney has stated that ''New'' was inspired by recent events in his life as well as memories of his pre-Beatles history. He added that some of the arrangements are unlike his usual rock recordings, and that he specifically sought out younger producers to work with. He and his stage band performed in various venues to promote the album, along with promotional events held through social media. It was originally recorded by McCartney and produced by English musician Mark Ronson for McCartney's sixteenth studio album '' New'', and appears as the sixth track on the album. After being released early on the iTunes Store as a track available to download from ''New'' on 28 August 2013, the song was released as a single on 2 September 2013 and available exclusively on Amazon.com. The single's premiere on 28 August was concurrent with the official reveal of ''New'' on the same day. The single gained heavy airplay on Japanese radio stations, where it became a number 4 hit on the Japan Hot 100. The single joined BBC Radio 2's playlist and the album of the same name was their Record of the Week. The song appears in both the opening and the end credits of Sony Pictures Animation's 2013 animated film ''Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2''. Hog Hill Mill
Hogg Hill Mill is a post mill at Icklesham in East Sussex, England. It houses the private recording studio of Paul McCartney. History Hogg Hill Mill was built in Pett in 1781 and moved to Icklesham in 1790. It was working by wind until 1920, when it was stopped, owing to a weak weatherbeam. The mill was also used as a filming location for the 1951 British crime drama film '' The Quiet Woman'', directed by John Gilling. Today, the mill houses the recording studios of Paul McCartney. Ted Jensen (born September 19, 1954) is an American mastering engineer, known for having mastered many recordings, including the Eagles' '' Hotel California'', Green Day's '' American Idiot'' and Norah Jones' ''Come Away with Me''. Early life and education Jensen was born on September 19, 1954, in New Haven, Connecticut, to Carl and Margaret (Anning) Jensen, both of whom were musicians. Carl had studied at Yale University. Margaret went to Oberlin College & Conservatory and Skidmore College and was also a pilot. Carl and Margaret met on a train while going to a choral workshop.
