NewSong
NewSong is an American contemporary Christian music group that was established in 1981, at Morningside Baptist Church in Valdosta, Georgia. They have had twelve GMA Dove Award nominations, and one 45th Annual Grammy Awards, Grammy Award Nomination. They are also the founders of the Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, the United States' largest annual Christian music tour. It began in 1995, and is hosted by NewSong. Winter Jam has artists perform including TobyMac, Hillsong United, Hillsong UNITED, Newsboys, Lecrae, MercyMe, and Skillet (band), Skillet. NewSong has provided support for organizations working with abandoned and underprivileged children. For years they worked with World Vision. "The Christmas Shoes" is a Christmas-themed song by the Christian vocal group NewSong. It was written by NewSong group members Eddie Carswell and Leonard Ahlstrom as well as syndicated radio personality Isaiah "DC" Daniel (of Steve & DC). The song was released through Benson Records as a bonus track on their 2000 album ''Sheltering Tree'', at the urging of DC, who also co-produced the tune in the summer of 2000. It peaked at No. 31 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Songs chart spent one week at No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart and No. 42 on the Hot 100 chart. Newsboys (sometimes stylised as newsboys) are a Christian rock band that has existed in various permutations since its founding in 1985 in Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia, by Peter Furler and George Perdikis. Eddie Middleton
Eddie Middleton (April 15, 1947 – August 21, 2021) was an American singer who had a few hits on the US country charts in the 1970s. He also leant towards the soul genre and sang gospel. His biggest success was his version of the song " Endlessly". Background Middleton had three records charting nationally on the country charts in 1977. They were "Midnight Train to Georgia", " Endlessly" and "What Kind of Fool (Do You Think I Am)". Middleton was a founding member of the Christian supergroup NewSong. Michael O'Brien (musician)
Michael David O'Brien (born August 23, 1964) is an American Christian musician and worship leader, who primarily plays Christian pop and contemporary worship music. He released eight solo albums since 1990. He was a touring member of the Heritage Singers, before becoming a full-fledged member of NewSong, in 1999. Early and personal life Michael David O'Brien was born on August 23, 1964, in Miami, Florida, where he resided until he was 11 years old. Charles Billingsley (born January 7, 1970, in Clovis, NM) is a preacher, Christian singer, worship leader, songwriter, speaker and author. Career Billingsley began his solo career the day after he graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1992. After two years, he joined the contemporary Christian music group NewSong. Gotee Records is a record label of Christian hip-hop, based in Franklin, Tennessee in the United States. History The label was founded in 1994 by TobyMac, Todd Collins and Joey Elwood. The first album produced is Out of Eden's '' Lovin' the Day''. The label was a part of EMI Christian Music Group. However, they bought back EMI's minority share to become fully independent again as of March 31, 2008. Toby McKeehan is currently the president of the company and as of 2009, the label is currently distributed by Warner Bros. Records.
