Nevada State Route 773
State Route 773 (SR 773) is a state highway in Esmeralda County, Nevada, United States. Known as Fish Lake Valley Road, the highway was a part of former SR 3A. Route description SR 773 begins at a junction with State Route 264 north of Fish Lake Valley. The route follows Fish Lake Valley Road northeast to its terminus at U.S. Route 6 (US 6), about west of Coaldale. History The highway originally composed the northern of State Route 3A, a route christened in 1933 to connect State Route 15 (now US 6) to Fish Lake Valley and Dyer. SR 3A was replaced by State Route 773 and State Route 264 on July 1, 1976. SR 773 did not appear on state highway maps until 1991. Esmeralda County is a county in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Nevada. As of the 2020 census, the population was 729, making it the least populous county in Nevada. Esmeralda County does not have any incorporated communities. Its county seat is the town of Goldfield. State Route 264 (SR 264) is a state highway in Esmeralda County, Nevada, United States. It connects California State Route 266 to U.S. Route 6 (US 6) via the town of Dyer, Nevada. The majority of the route is known as Fish Lake Valley Road, with the northern portion referred to as the ''Dicalite Cutoff''. A majority of the route was originally designated State Route 3A. Route description SR 264 begins at the California State line approximately north of Oasis, California on California State Route 266. From there, the highway follows Fish Lake Valley Road north to pass through the small community of Dyer. As the route heads north from Dyer through Fish Lake Valley, Boundary Peak, the highest point in the state of Nevada, comes into view on the west side of the highway. Dyer is an unincorporated town, located in Fish Lake Valley, Esmeralda County, Nevada, United States. It had a population of 324 as of the 2018 American Community Survey. The town serves the surrounding area's sparse rural population of mainly ranchers and indigenous Paiute people. The town has a gas station/ store, cafe, post office and airport. Dyer is located on State Route 264, near Nevada's border with California. It is south of U.S. Route 6 and north of Oasis, California. The town is part of the Dyer Census Designated Place.
