''Neurotic Outsiders'' is the only studio album by the British-American rock supergroup Neurotic Outsiders, released on 10 September 1996. The band was formed in 1995 by Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum of Guns N' Roses, and John Taylor of Duran Duran. ''Neurotic Outsiders'' was produced by Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads and recorded across six days. The album was reissued in 2022 with three additional tracks previously included on the 1997 EP ''Angelina''. Background and release The band was originally formed by Steve Jones, Duff McKagan, John Taylor and Matt Sorum to play at a benefit at the Viper Room in Los Angeles in June 1995 and later began playing regularly at the venue with friends of the band making guest appearances onstage, including Billy Idol, Iggy Pop, Chrissie Hynde, Ian Astbury and Mel C. Neurotic Outsiders
Neurotic Outsiders was a British-American rock supergroup founded in 1995, consisting of Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols, Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan of Guns N' Roses, and John Taylor of Duran Duran. The first line-up featured Billy Idol and Steve Stevens, together with McKagan and Sorum, but they were soon replaced by Jones and Taylor. Originally a gathering of friends jamming together at the Viper Room in Los Angeles, the band released one eponymous album on Maverick Records in September 1996, and briefly toured Europe and North America. The band broke up in 1997 due to the members' commitments to other projects, but reunited briefly in April 1999 for three shows at the Viper Room. William Michael Albert Broad (born 30 November 1955), known professionally as Billy Idol, is an English singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. Nick Rhodes (born Nicholas James Bates; 8 June 1962) is an English keyboardist and producer, best known as a founding member and the keyboardist of the band Duran Duran. He has also been the only constant member of the group since their 1978 inception. Roger Andrew Taylor (born 26 April 1960) is an English musician, best known as the drummer of the new wave band Duran Duran from their inception until 1985, and again from 2001 onwards. Simon Le Bon
Simon John Charles Le Bon (born 27 October 1958) is an English singer. He is best known as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the new wave band Duran Duran and its offshoot Arcadia. Planet Earth (Duran Duran Song)
"Planet Earth" is the debut single by the English new wave band Duran Duran, released on 2 February 1981. It was an immediate hit in the band's native UK, reaching number 12 on the UK Singles Chart on 21 February, and did even better in Australia, hitting number 8 to become Duran Duran's first top 10 hit anywhere in the world. Along with the track, "Girls on Film", "Planet Earth" also hit the top 40 on the US dance charts. The song later appeared on the band's eponymous debut studio album ''Duran Duran'', released in June 1981. About the song "Planet Earth" begins with a mid-tempo synthesised sweep backed with sequenced electronic rhythm, but the real rhythm section of throbbing bass and crisp drums soon kick in.
