Israeli settlements, also called Israeli colonies, are the civilian communities built by Israel throughout the Israeli-occupied territories. A community settlement (, ''Yishuv Kehilati'') is a type of town or village in Israel and in the West Bank. In an ordinary town, anyone may buy property, but in a community settlement, the village's residents are organized in a cooperative and have the power to approve or to veto a sale of a house or a business to any buyer. Israeli Disengagement From Gaza

Netzer Hazani, Hof Aza
Netzer Hazani () was an Israeli settlement located in the northeast corner of the Gush Katif (a bloc of 17 Israeli settlements in the southern Gaza strip) and evacuated in Israel's disengagement of 2005. It was under the jurisdiction of Hof Aza Regional Council. History Netzer Hazani was founded as a paramilitary Nahal (Fighting Pioneer Youth) settlement called Gadish on May 29, 1973. In February 1977 the land was handed over to civilians as a moshav of Orthodox Jews, becoming the first civilian village of Gush Katif. The settlement was named after Michael Hazani, Minister of Social Welfare and Agriculture and one of the pioneers of the settlement movement.
