Subhas Chandra Bose (23 January 1897 â€“ 18 August 1945) was an Indian independence movement, Indian nationalist whose defiance of British raj, British authority in India made him a hero among many Indians, but his wartime alliances with Nazi Germany and Japanese Fascism, Fascist Japan left a legacy vexed by authoritarianism, anti-Semitism, and military incompetence, military failure. * The honorific 'Netaji' (Hindustani language, Hindustani: "Respected Leader") was first applied to Bose in Germany in early 1942—by the Indian soldiers of the ''Indian Legion, Indische Legion'' and by the German and Indian officials in the Special Bureau for India in Berlin. Netoji Palkar (also ''Netaji Palkar'', , 1620–1681) was the 2nd Senapati of the Maratha Army under the leadership of Chhatrapati Shivaji, the visionary founder of the Maratha empire. He was also known as ''Prati-Shivaji'' for embodying the ideals of Shivaji. Background Netoji Palkar was born in the small village of Chouk in Khalapur into a Marathi Chandraseniya Kayastha Prabhu family. Netoji's father was a Jagirdar under the Sultanate of Bijapur. Military Career Netoji was appointed as Senapati in 1657, following the demise of Mankoji Dahatonde. Throughout the period of Shivaji's ascendancy from 1645 to 1665, Netaji was entrusted with the leadership of numerous expeditions, all of which he executed with remarkable success. ''Netaji '' () is a Bengali biographical soap opera on the life of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose that premiered on 14 January 2019 and aired on Bengali GEC Zee Bangla. Based majorly on ''Udyata Kharga Subhash'' by Achintya Kumar Sengupta and produced by Surinder Films, the series stars Abhishek Bose in the eponymous role, with Basabdatta Chatterjee, marking her comeback on television, Dhruvajyoti Sarkar, Kaushik Chakraborty, Sriparna Roy, Debopriyo Sarkar, Sohan Bandopadhyay, Fahim Mirza appearing in other recurring roles. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the shooting of the series was stalled. It was rumoured that along with '' Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni'', this series will be axed the channel. ''Netaji'' () is a 2019 Indian film made in Irula language directed by Vijeesh Mani and produced by Johny Kuruvila. The film stars Gokulam Gopalan in his first title role along with Master Alok and others. The film has M. J. Radhakrishnan as cinematographer and Harikumar Madhavan Nair as sound designer. The film was shot at Attappadi. Netaji is officially India's first Irula language film, and the film won Guinness award for the first tribal language film.
